IPod is not so big over here in Europe as it is in the US - I think it will be more a general mobile device thing, not so specialised on one specific device.

I'm not so sure of it.

I don't know about it being the next big thing.

It will will be an integral part of member retention pretty quickly. Add the fact that you have your content formatted for ipods to your tours and deliver it in the members area.

We're converting all of our content for it
It's more about riding the wave of the hype. It doesn't cost much to support the format so it's really no big deal.

The short answer is Yes.

The long answer is no.

3GPP has at least 5 different formats now.

I'm not so sure it will survive the hype as an entertainment medium due to a lack of resolution and screen size.

I see it doing well as a promotion and advertising medium.

There will definitely be a market for it and it will grow. However, how large it grows depends on a) growth of local storage for iPods and b) rise of clones of iPods (ie., similar devices)

I think everyone should be converting their videos to accept the format to their players, but the question is, do people really sit there and watch videos on the little portable players. I have Vcast on my phone and I have used it twice. Haven't touched it in months.

For those of you that say you are banking on it, what is banking to you. Hundreds? Thousands? Hundreds of Thousands?
