For those who live in Los Angeles.

How many have you been to the Shabu House near Little Tokyo.

I took some friends there a few nights ago and they all loved it. Although they have never heard of it before. It isn't exactly hidden but a lot of people dont know about this great place.

SleazyDream 12-28-2005 04:44 PM

ummmm ok

wdsguy 12-28-2005 04:45 PM

Haven't been there.

Never heard of it.

There are a lot of great places that no one has heard about in los angeles, like the king taco right off the 710 fwy that stays open until 1am. Always has huge crowds and fresh food.

BAKO 12-28-2005 04:48 PM

I never heard of it either

It's possible, but I dont believe this one is in east LA. It's right where the 10 and the 710 meet. You'll know this king taco, because it's about a block or two away from an old creepy cemetery.

No. Its shabu.

Basically you sit down, in front of a pot of poiling watter. You get a plate full of meat, vegetables, etc.

They show you how to add spices and stuff to the watter. You dip in your mear and other veggies in it for a few minutes, pull it out and eat.

It tastes great if done right.

Its a close comparison but it is different.

Click the link i provided for the address.

Go there with g/f, wife or a friend.

They open at night. Get there 30 minutes before they open to get a table. Its always packed because its a small place.

Last time i went it was 15 per plate per person. Thats the large plate which has the slices of meat, veggies, etc.

Its very cheap, tastey and filling.

tristan_D 12-28-2005 05:28 PM

never heard of the place.

Just Mike 12-28-2005 05:30 PM

Great place.,..but you have to really like boiled meat in order to appreciate that style of food.
