My foolish side tells me that I never even knew I had this money, so spending it on something stupid or fun wouldn't be a loss.

Here is a simple one: File folder that sits for checks that have to hit the daily bank runs. I started doing that and now, nothing slips past :)

Nah, I'm going to make 2 - 3 times as much next year. I'll have to pay it sooner or later. This years majority income came within about 5 months

nah, never count your chickens before the eggs hatch.

It doesn't matter. I've deposited numerous "expired" checks over the years ... all have gone through fine.

The worse that can happen is it gets returned and one is hit with a return item bank fee(s).

Even when a check is truly "expired", that alone typically will not get the payer off the hook for the outstanding debt - they can be required to issue a new check (though they may legally deduct administration / bank fees off the amount in some instances) for the outstanding debt.

Well, im going to sleep. There was no real subliminal message or boasting here. I woke up, was bored, and started cleaning because my desk was filled with garbage.

I was throwing out envelopes and such and found and unopened one with a name i recognized. I opened it and found 1K. It made my morning, Thats all.

LOL. I was just going thru a bunch of boxes from my move and found tons of old checks. Need to get them re-issued now and have a party!
