2006 Prediction: AVN Online and AVN merge publications
 

...I'm probably wrong... I don't have a crystal ball or any real information, just a hunch. Guess we'll see! With their so much "convergence" as they like to call it... or consolidation as I see it... Merging the publications seems like the next logical step if advertising sales and revenue is down on the internet side.

my prediction is that internext and avn expo will be merged in 2007, and it will continue to be the same week as CES

AVN has talked about merging the two mags in the past but I dont see it happening.

AVN is just starting to get a feel for us internet folks but the idea of a monthly print publication to tell US whats happening on the net is a tad...well...retarded...

reference the recent 10th circuit decision...that will be in the print rag 2 months from now at the earliest, lead times for print magazines kill immediacy..by the time it runs it may already be decided even....

AVN has in the past run announcements of new contract girls who were no longer under contract by the time the print mag came out...such is the nature of the beast.

Personally I see GFY as the single biggest threat to AVNOnline

ya theres a lot of noise but if you need to know something or just need something it's easy to find here and it's all done in OUR medium.

Personally I don't see AVNOnline lasting a whole lot longer...a year maybe 2...UNLESS it can find a way to be more useful to us than giving us 2 month old news....

For the sake of argument, I'll predict that the backlash from the upcoming show is so great that they move BOTH shows. Internext to the week following CES and AEE to the week following Internext...or vice versa.

***Just for the record...I hope I'm WRONG on the backlash, but RIGHT on moving both shows.

i honestly 100% think that this was all completely planned

what other reason would they hold their two conventions at the exact same time as CES? MONEY!!!

it is pretty known that the CES convention goers love it when AVN overlaps with CES, they all buy tickets and skip CES that day to see all the porn stars....now the CES dudes have 2 MAJOR adult conventions going on at the exact same time, and that only means one thing, AVN is about to get VERY rich, and AVN Expo is about to get more crowded than any other porn convention in the world...all those CES dorks are going to be lining the aisles for the their autographed photo of Jenna or Tera....and if you all think they won't be trying to get into internext, i think you are very wrong

avn was smart about one thing, making MAD CASH this time around....

it used to be sort of that way back in the day.....ces and avn overlapped by one day, but everything ran consecutively
