Hosting Rates too Vague?
Just wondering why Hosting Co A (I am thinking of one in particular but i am sure many do the same) advertise on the boards that they are willing to beat every other host's rates but when you go to Hosts A's website the overage rate is like $2.50 a gig? Do the 'Big Boys' really pay $2.50 a gig on overage? I doubt it!! But then again the 'Big Boys' prolly have several dedicated servers. Hmmm Better to market towards the 'Big Boys' or the 'lil boys'? Just curious.

They probably pay closer to $4.50/gig overage so that sounds like a steal!!!

Overages are pretty much a thing of the past. If you want a good deal on hosting you need to talk to the guys running the show. You can pretty much just pay a flate fee per gig these days. You just have to know who to work with.
