Two 19" or one 24" monitor, which one would you rather have?

assuming the price of two 19" monitors and one 24" monitor came to about the same, which one would you go for?

bjjb 12-31-2005 09:28 AM

one big ass 24 incher

Project-Shadow 12-31-2005 09:28 AM

2 x 19" [I'm currently using 3x 19"]
Widescreen is nice, but I don't find it practical when doing work. It's more for games/movies.

Sosa 12-31-2005 09:30 AM

2 19 inch ones. I already have a 21 and I woudl rather have 2 smaller ones.

MikeVega 12-31-2005 09:33 AM

2 19's ... i like having some applications always open on one side ... and being able to move stuff to the side ..it just seems to let me organize stuff better.

amandaspost 12-31-2005 09:39 AM

The 24''

Stallion 12-31-2005 09:44 AM

I love my 2 19's.

fetishblog 12-31-2005 09:45 AM

Considering you can get 2 decent 19" LCDs for $400 + tax, I'd go that route since a 24" LCD is gonna be way out of my price range. I've got 1 19" LCD right now, and I'm uber happy with it.

John69 12-31-2005 09:48 AM

24" here

Za Ha 12-31-2005 09:57 AM

Once you work on 2 monitors you will not be able to go back to one!
2 x 19 = 38 inch btw

gangbangjoe 12-31-2005 09:59 AM

2x19 no question

warlock5 12-31-2005 10:06 AM

No, two 19 doesn't equal one 38.

wargames 12-31-2005 10:57 AM

two 19 if you are going to multi task. 1 24 if you are going to play games.

I have two 19 at the office for work and 1 37 at the house for games.

Rui 12-31-2005 11:05 AM

I'm looking into get another 19'' widescreen for my primary work computer :)

The workspace possibilities are endless :)

phpslave 12-31-2005 11:14 AM

one 24" monitor, i'm a programmer and like to see as much code on the screen at one time as i can.

Marshal 12-31-2005 11:18 AM

2 x 19" definitely! :)

pornguy 12-31-2005 11:19 AM

Fine like 36inch viewability cause there is a 1inch border on each.
So thats 18 inches of GFY and 18 inches of Photoshop at the same time.

Michaelious 12-31-2005 12:27 PM

24 inch would be best

jonesy 12-31-2005 01:47 PM

2 x 19's

emthree 12-31-2005 01:54 PM

one 30 incher

Rex 12-31-2005 02:04 PM

bigger the better

Quagmire 12-31-2005 02:09 PM

I'd go the dual 19" route. I am actually looking at doing that myself since I have a 19" presently. Unless you're planning on sitting across the room to work a single 24" is overkill. IMHO of course.

The Truth Hurts 12-31-2005 02:26 PM

I went from the Sony 24" CRT, to two 19" LCD's...

I'd never go back.

Elli 12-31-2005 02:27 PM

2 19's. I'd much rather have a dual monitor setup.

V_RocKs 12-31-2005 03:16 PM

2 19's... Sometimes you work on something and it just isn't enough to send it to the task bar - minimized... If it is really bothering you it is liberating to punish it by throwing the problem onto the other monitor... Then you can work on the new shit and know that it misses being on the production monitor... fucking stupid window... behave!

RawAlex 12-31-2005 03:22 PM

I went to two a while back (they are not matched, one 20, one 19)... the 20 is used for all the main stuff, and the 19 gets all the shit work, like mail, IM, and anything else that might "pop up". I am still having fun teaching myself to open stuff in two screens to copy stuff... it isn't natural after all these years but it sure works well when I think about it.

BrettJ 12-31-2005 03:41 PM

2 19's... for the reasons mentioned about. so much nicer than one widescreen

Vitasoy 12-31-2005 03:58 PM

Duo.. two 19's inchers for me.

sltr 12-31-2005 04:05 PM

i'm running 1 19" + 1 24"

i'm digging it

$5 submissions 12-31-2005 04:29 PM

I'll definitely take the 24"

WarChild 12-31-2005 04:32 PM

I'm using one 24" but will probably upgrade to two.

I already have two 19", so I'll take the 24" and build a 3rd PC ;).

:pimp

Mr Pheer 12-31-2005 06:31 PM

You'll get more work done with dual monitors.

I started with dual 17's and now have dual 21 inch widescreens

A easier solution IMO is to use your notebook's screen as your third computer monitor. There a few cheap softwares that will allow you do do this....

tony286 12-31-2005 07:34 PM

two 19's all the way

DonX 12-31-2005 07:35 PM

2 19's :thumbsup
