Why do we always feel nostalgic about the past..

It's almost 2006 here.. And I am drinking (Shit.. I am so fucking drunk) and listening to a DM album (Violator) that came out in 90/91 and I feel horribly nostalgic about that period where it was just innonence and parties.

I don't feel old at all, but it feels strange that numbers can affect me that much.. Shit 2006 will kick ass.. But I'm 32 and sometimes I feel like my life is all about the past..

I have 2 kids and a wonderful wife.. Life goes on.. :pimp I know that if It was possible to go back in the past I'd miss them a lot.. But..

Anyway.. 1990-1992..Those were the days.. Depeche Mode Violator. U2 and Zoo TV.. WOW! I want to go back.. Just for a couple of days.. PLEASE!!!!

We feel nostalgic about the past, because feeling nostalgic about the future doesn't make much sense...

i think the close of a chapter and the eginning of another marked by the entire globe is the reason. its the closest thing we have to a marker in time.

thats what i think anyhow.

Depeche Mode? U2? Zoo TV? Those are three things I wish I could forget.

Turn off the VH1.

because we only tend to remember the good and the bad fades.

Yes. And we are quickly running out of past thanks to VH1. I predict they start the "I love the 00's!" in '06. After that the only thing left will be nostalgia for the future.
