Stay the FUCK away from registerfly!

This is my fault for not monitoring my credit card statement. But in december I made 1 purchase for $29.97. I recieve my credit card statement today.. 3 charges for $29.97 and FOUR MOTHER FUCKING charges for $9.99. What the fuck is this shit? I can't do shit about it they don't answer their phone. Their 'rapid response' support ticket said 'we have forwarded this to our billing department'. Im ready to sue these people but Im not that smart with this stuff. Does anyone know about class action lawsuits? I can only imagine when I get all my new statements sent to me via snail mail how many erroneous charges there will be.

bad thread to make on 12/31/2005 at 11:36pm EST

Fizzgig 12-31-2005 09:38 PM

Hey, I wasn't going there anyway but thanks for the heads-up!

PimpDaddyPants 12-31-2005 09:38 PM

I agree with Bdjuf

The only thing I can do is dispute all the charges through AMEX they are very nice. And then transfer all the domains I care about away from registerfly. I'm going to cancel my AMEX card so they can't do further charges.

ry0t 12-31-2005 09:40 PM

Why is this a bad thread to make at this time?

ry0t 01-01-2006 03:32 PM

bump for a bullshit company!

fris 01-01-2006 03:34 PM

i get massive emails all the time from them, i used to use them for .ca domains. bad idea.

Cash 01-01-2006 04:14 PM

I used them for 1 domain only, and had no problem, but it's good to know what happened to you ...

Manowar 01-01-2006 04:17 PM

Transfer first and dispute later or they will take your domains :2 cents:

I never had any problems with registerfly!

DUBLIN 01-02-2006 02:31 PM

They refunded me recently when domain registration failed to go thru

Murderous 01-02-2006 02:43 PM

4 years and no problems... yet.

tgpmakers 01-02-2006 02:47 PM

i've never had a problem with them i'm sure there'll sort it out if you contact them.

Violetta 01-02-2006 02:52 PM

I have never had a problem with them!

LiveDose 01-02-2006 02:53 PM

transfer & chargeback.

Freakster 01-02-2006 02:55 PM

support is aweful, been running after them for two weeks now, no reply yet either by email or support ticket

pornguy 01-02-2006 03:01 PM

Dispute the chartges with Amex. Askl Amex to issue you a new card with a new number, and tell them why. They will.

Then get all your new domains with www.namecheap.com

lazycash 01-02-2006 03:24 PM

Didn't you already make a thread about this where you said you had accidentally clicked multiple times on the signup?

stickyfingerz 01-02-2006 03:40 PM

I use dotster, they are a bit more money, but Ive never had a problem, and the domains propogate nearly instantly. You usually can find a coupon code to use for dotster too. I use FREEMONEY code that makes them 9.95. There are alot doing them for 7 bucks out there, but its worth the 3 bucks for a reliable domain name to me. :thumbsup

boneless 01-02-2006 03:49 PM

i use registerfly andthe email and ticket support sucks, but my experience with the phone support is very good, every issue i had was solved fast.

Right now im with www.moniker.com and they are defo worth checking out ;)

blackfeet 01-02-2006 04:29 PM

you may have ordered some extra services and didn't realize it.

i have about 50 names with them and never had a problem with them.

some names 5 years old.

Lance69 01-02-2006 10:17 PM

Yup thats what I did. That doesnt justify the point that there are 6 charges on my card when their sign up process only failed three times. I can understand if they charges 3 times for $29.97 and I would get a refund for two of them. But there are four more charges for $9.99 and I only bought one domain for $9.99. What are the other three 9.99 charges plus the two wrongful $29.97 charges. Its BULLSHIT and fraudulent.

Webby 01-02-2006 10:43 PM

Hate all registrars - hate dealing with em. One moment they are OK, then a total fuckup and harassment.

The irony is they are paid for the crap service?? :winkwink:

brizzad 01-02-2006 10:49 PM

i LOVE registerfly... I've been through hundreds and hundreds of domains with them and I usually keep at least 20-30 at any given time with them. Their support has always been great for me, especially the live person support via their website.

rowan 01-02-2006 11:08 PM

I still can't believe in this day and age that programmers cannot code a unique ID into the "submit payment" script. If it has already been seen in the last 24h, print an error saying you've already been charged. How hard is that?

bdld 01-03-2006 12:21 AM

never had any problems with them.

So why make another thread about the same thing? Just give them a call and explain to them what happened, I've never had any problems with their phone support.

ry0t 01-03-2006 12:27 AM

I tried calling phone support several different times and it feels bad when I get hung up on after 20 minutes of hold time. I was mad so I made this thread Ill stick to one next time.
