This is the funniest thing I have heard all year.
Martina and Warren invited me to come ring in the new year with them, so naturally I took them up on the invite.
We went out to a nice dinner then came home to continue the festivities. Martina seemed obsessed with wanting to watch "the ball drop" in Time Square. I figured it was some holiday tradition with her. Midnight rolls around and the ball of "Waterford Crystal" begins its gentle slide down the pole and suddenly Martina is like, "what the hell is this?" "The ball isn't going to crash? What is the point of that? I thought the ball was going to come crashing down!" I was rolling on the floor. Obviously she had never seen it before, and just figured that since other major cities have huge fireworks displays and other scenes of grandeur, that NYC was going to drop this huge ball of crystal from the sky and have it smash on the ground with a giant splash of exploding glass. I have to admit, if they followed her suggestion, they would probably get more viewers. I know I would watch. :1orglaugh |
Now THAT is funny ROFL
I am sure the young teens, couples, and hopeful new immigrants who are in New York for the first time would have been thrilled with the glass shooting at their faces and thus causing scarring and a plethora of other nasty injuries |
:1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh
would be a great show though, the ball cost over $1 million |
Quote:
What's a million dollars to a city the size of New York? Besides, I am sure the TV rights would more than cover that |
Johnny Knoxville would be a good replacement for Dick Clark...
