any details ?

how much ram, harddrive space do you want ?

what do you want to do with it ?

which size ? 15,4 or 17 inch screen ?

i got the new fujitsu siemens amilo and im happy with it,

the 15,4 wxga tft is kick ass and the fans are pretty quiet.

It will basically be my desktop replacement... I'll be doing some coding, but nothing major. A nice 15" screen would be good.

What is the best screen technology? I see a ton of different options... uxga, wuxga, wxga, etc...

depends on what you plan to do with it!

the new wxga crsytal brite screen of my notebook looks kick ass but i can't imagine working outdoors (when the sun is shining) with it because of the reflections..

Rented a house in San Diego. Scouting out neighborhoods before moving there later next summer. Damn, I'm fired up!

I really love my Dell Inspiron Laptop. I found it to be dependable, rugged, and easily adapted to any location. I have desktop docking stations at work and home to make it easy to setup. I have taken it all around the world and never had a serious problem with electricity, connectivity, or security. I have a usb DVD+R recorder, a usb 200 Gig harddrive, usb flash drives, video cameras, scanners, portable printers, etc....plenty of memory and speed. I LIKE IT!

Bought one for the road and ended up replacing my desktop with it.

Just ran across this one on Tiger Direct. Nice one

Asus W3V is my choice. Sleek design, 14 inch widescreen with crystal brite and whatever and ATI accelerator for games. Very nice desktop replacement, which is still portable with a 2.5kg weight when using a 8 cell battery.

I use it to run my internet businesses.

Some very nice recommendations...

any thoughts regarding the new tablet PCs?

anyone have one?
