Same here. If I feel it necessary to throw a smack, punch, hit, then there is no crying to my mommy if I get popped in the face back. I fully deserve it.

I'll be honest ... I did once ... I was 19 I think or about ..maybe 18 ..my girl friend was at my apartment and we were breaking up ..it was a bad month .. I was with her 4 years and I asked her to leave ...she wanted to sleep there and i told her to go home ... she git me in the head with an alarm clock ...I didn't do anything ... then she grabbed me by the balls and wouldn't let go ... so I gave her a smack ...Not the best thing but i was fighting for my BALLS ... then she went to Kick me in the nuts and i grabbed her leg .. she fell on her ass ... at that point I said fuck it and left her at my place and went to a friends house at 2am ... the next morning she was there and wanted to make me breakfast ... I was like what the fuck ..take a hint .. she left and we didn't talk for a bit ... but we became friends after that and i still feel bad about it ...

A real man wouldn't hit a woman - especially his own gf/wife. If she's that angry then it's best just to walk away until things cool down.

I agree. However, I also think that there isn't a reason for most women to randomly hit a man. I hate when I see women that think it is okay just to slap men whenever they feel like having a paddy. Hitting someone you claim to love is a bad way to live regardless of gender.

The only reason a man should EVER hit a woman is if it's during consensual bedroom play.

But the woman who said that if she hit a man she would be expecting to be hit back is smart, the person who said that you had to do something to deserve being smacked in the first place seems to me not to have much experience with dating younger women, that throught process is far to logical and women are never 100% logical.

So if hitting a woman makes you less than a man, does hitting a man make you less than a woman? Besides, no marks if you shake her......

me and my gf don't get physical everytime we will have a fight. she would just do all the nagging.

Hmm... I like how some guys feel like the just "can't hit a woman" because they were just "raised that way"... Too bad my bf doesn't feel that way...

I talked about this with my bf and he doesn't believe in all that, he said "why is it always about the woman? Why can't it be about the guy? Who do women always think they can get away with stuff because they were opressed for hundreds of years? It should be equal."

Well, that's his viewpoint, not mine. I never hit my bf put I've yelled at him and pull him back during our intense fights, he never hit me hard, but my bf has the view point that it's "ok to slap some sense into a woman" at certain times, but rest assured I'm not some poor battered woman or anything. He doesn't mean hit as in knock them out, but just lightly slap a bit of sense into "them"... lol

Probably not the healthiest relationship but you can't have it all in a relationship. Some men proclaim they would "NEVER" hit a woman, but then they have other faults such as they cheat, or flirt with other women.

Basically no one is perfect, if it's not one flaw it's the other. I wouldn't be happy with a guy who is perfectly gentlemanly and never cusses at me and gets physical with during fights but cheats... So basically I think it's really difficult to find a man who is perfect, so I accept his flaws.

I never hit him, but I've yelled at him and tried to get attention by pulling him towards me because I wasn't done explaining something... And he has slapped me lightly before in the face too because of that, but it's not anything I'm gonna cry about. It also doesn't happen often.

I just walk out of the house now....

But I've never hit my bf first, he thinks it's enough reason to push me or something of the sort if I just touch him during our fights, like if he says "leave me alone, don't touch me" and I keep doing it (because I'm a glutton for punishment) he'll react by pushing me hard or something like that.

I have never hit him first because I'm not a violent person, I admit I may be a whiny and bitchy person at times but I'm violent physically. My bf is more hot tempered though and he doesn't believe women should get special treatment "just because they are women".

Also I think it has a lot to do with how a guy grew up and what their parents relationship was like. For example, my ex parents were not violent with each other (as far as I know) and he's real close to his mother and was kind of pampered growing up, and he never hit me or called me names during our fights... I think his upbringing has a lot to do with it. But he DOES have other flaws like lying and a ton of other stuff...

The guy I'm with now grew up in a dysfunctional home his parents were violent, his mom and dad used to throw knives at each other (I heard) and his dad kicked down the door and I think punched the mother in the head till she bled, so perhaps that's why my bf has the views that he does.

I think upbringing has A LOT to do with it.
