The word free....does it bring in sales....in domain names and in advertising....to suck the surfer in....does it tend hinder sales or does it do the opposite?

well i guess my main concern is domain names with the word free.....say it pulls in alot of "free porn" search engine traffic......will it convert sales.....the surfer is looking for FREE PORN......will they in turn buy if they like? i know its ah hard question....but....what people say that have such domains? and the search engine traffic

Free has officially become the metaphorical (and literal, dur) "4 Leter word" on the internet.

Nobody wants to hear that shit. "Free" on the internet = stay away. Even surfers know that now.

I've got a domain that has "free" in it and it gets various "free porn" type SE traffic.. it lists lots of the free email type sites, free trial sites etc... I also have banners for regular pay sites... I make sales on all of it including the regular pay sites. I make more "free" sales, but more money off the banners.. go figure..

is the "free porn" traffic significant enough and your saying it converts then?

"free porn" isn't significant. I get traffic on a bunch of 3-4 word phrases with free porn, links from other hubs and feeder sites with "free porn" links. Plus I also dump some niche targeted 404 type traffic into the site etc.. Based on conversions, it's actually better than giving away free porn on a TGP. I just need to get more traffic to the site.

I'm gonna start a new system ... all the porn is free, you just gotta pay $10/gig for the bandwidth to get it :D
