Got my Sirius today
 

Got it all hooked up. Tested it on the Creative Nano I got from Tassy and Halcyon and it works ok. Finally decided to hook it up to an old set of 2.1 speakers I had laying around. Best channel so far, 23 - Hair Nation. Whats everyone elses favorites on Sirius?

Came with home and car kit. Can get the car kit and reciever for around 100 bucks but theres also a new $20 rebate. Home kit is from 30-40 bucks.

I'm not too thrilled about Sirius. The radio is my car gets better reception and sounds crisper... :(

I had a few problems finding a spot for the antannae. Last place I tried worked perfectly lol And youre right. Not as crisp a sound as you would think, but fine for diehard Stern Fans and commercial haters. lol

how did you hook it up to get reception? Mandatory to use that modulator from sirius to your cars antenna. If you are just using one of those less frequently used stations, like 88.7 here, it sucks

you need to ditch the antenna they give you, and buy the modulator for 20 bucks. Once you use the modulator, its crystal clear

Do I need a modulator for in house?

I'm using the magnet antenna that comes with it. I'll try a different station, hopefully that helps.

Modulator? Hmm... they never mentioned that when I bought the unit.

I've had the sportster for a while. (for both car and home) got beat up on another thread telling me it was old. Works fine, About $200 with set up.

Sirius has some great channels. The sound is kinda bad though. It sounds like something between AM and FM. If they increase the overall sound quality that can be heard in all te recievrs it would be the shit!

Ive got 50 some channels for free on DirecTv. Had a high dollar Xm radio I got free and sold it. Ddint think I needed it with the free channels I get on DTV and I wanted Stern next week.
