Celebrity Big Brother UK

Here is where I say I am not going to watch and get sucked in again. I didn't watch any of the normal Big Brother this year but if rumours are right and George Galloway is in this one it might be worth a watch.

penzo 01-05-2006 02:10 PM

and dennis rodman!

SGS 01-05-2006 02:10 PM

Michael Barrymore is in there I believe so even if Jesus Christ was in there it wouldn?t be worth watching.

chances are most of the people are going to have gag orders

so far they are putting in a fake celeb that has to try to convince the rest of the 'real' celebs that she is famous. She looks like the essex answer to Paris Hilton.

ssp 01-05-2006 02:14 PM

I'd rather pick someone else's nose than watch Big Brother.

Sarah_Jayne 01-05-2006 02:16 PM

Sarah_Jayne 01-05-2006 02:27 PM

That is Peter Burns from Dead Or Alive. Incase you are young he sang the 80's classic 'You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)'. He's always been a gender bender, a cosmetic surgery addict and insane.

A few years ago I saw him on an episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks where he came off as a complete twat.

Sarah_Jayne 01-05-2006 02:35 PM

First person I never actually heard of..someone from Baywatch

Dennis Rodman...a sports star from a sport nobody in the UK follows

tristan_D 01-05-2006 06:09 PM

I never watched any episode of big brother. I find the show very lame. but then again most of the show on tv nowadays are lame

Tim 01-05-2006 06:22 PM

I never watch it but, out of interest, who were the celebs who went in in the end?

Darkland 01-05-2006 06:27 PM

Hmmm, Big Brother in the UK??? I thought Big Brother was another term for the US Government and not a worldwide definition. I thought they got the name cause your always being watched on the show. Maybe I just dont get it but shouldnt it have been named something else???

Stacey_JoinRightNow 01-05-2006 10:44 PM

Well then with those people who will be in... I guess it will be interesting...

reed_4 01-05-2006 11:15 PM

Dutch Big Brother is better than UK. :thumbsup

rowan 01-05-2006 11:26 PM

Celebrity BB was as boring as batshit in Australia... the only exciting thing that happened was when Warrick Capper flashed his dick and was unceremoniously booted from the house

Well, firstly George Orwell was British. As I am sure you are aware, the term Big Brother comes from his novel 1984. Big Brother was always watching and controlled the population..the cameras are always watching and the producers control the contestants.

What else don't you get?

Michael Barrymore (no need to explain to a British person)
Pete Burns (Former singer of Dead Or Alive and cross dressing, plastic surgey addict)
Jodie Marsh (Jordan by another name)
Dennis Rodman (obviously basketball player)
George Galloway (facists saddam loving respect mp)
Maggot (from Goldie Lookin' Chain)
Rula Lenska (Rock Follies, Mrs. Waterman, etc)
Preston (singer with half decent band The Ordinary Boys)
Traci Bingham (bay watch apparently)
Faria Alam (former secretary at the FA that hit the tabloids when she slept with Sven)

She gives new meaning to the word thick.

MattOT 01-06-2006 09:53 AM

Yeah i dont think i will be watching it. I like that they call it Celebrity Big Brother i dont know who most of them are. It should be called "Excelebrity Big Brother" or "I once got in the headlines and now wont to earn some more money Big Brother" ;)

Your absolutely right, I didnt even think about Orwells 1984. I am just used to hearing all the conspiracy nuts talk about the US Government as Big Brother. Guess I should thought a little harder before posting :1orglaugh

Indeed..just saying the term was British in origin. Anyone that lives in London knows about big brother the way Orwell meant it.

Vitasoy 01-06-2006 07:44 PM

I wouldn't mind watching BigBrother UK version.. but I haven't watched bigbrother since the first season

sniperwolf 01-06-2006 08:49 PM

Well, they have been doing Celeb Big Brother every year in the UK for about four years. It is usually a charity thing and is in addition to the regular one.

flashfire 01-07-2006 04:25 AM

why does anyone in the UK care about rodman?

Pandemos 01-07-2006 04:36 AM

Three of them that I've never heard of. Pete Burns, though I recognise that record; Maggot, though I know of Goldie Lookin Chain; and Preston. Never heard of him or his band.

They know of him and have seen him in the press, etc. Sleeping with Madonna made him more famous here than basketball.

The Ordinary Boys are a half decent band that have a growing following in the indie scene. They are pretty big in Japan now which tends to be what happens with groups like that. I suppose their biggest song in the UK is 'Boys will be boys'
