That'd be just about enough for one good leather coutch...

AdPatron 01-05-2006 05:08 PM

Everything we got is wood. No chip board.

I don't like "fine" furniture.

I kinda like having a load-up at places such as IKEA and ripping an office apart and having clean stuff installed.

You also get a lot for the money and can just leave it when ya move. Ain't worth the effort moving it - just get another load! :thumbsup

LaurieX 01-05-2006 05:09 PM

Have fun putting it all together! Did you eat any meat balls?

My wife wont let me buy leather.

pornguy 01-05-2006 05:09 PM

I dont think that I would put out the money onf fine furniture for the area that I live in. Dusting 2 times a day is not enough.

My wife kinda hinted at me in a subtle way that she didn't prefer leather, so i took the bitch and put her in a figure 4 leg lock till her ankle snapped... then i bought 30 leather couches and filled our living room completely and put the extras ontop of her car and in her garden, because i am a MAN

Bluewire Ross 01-05-2006 05:12 PM

You should do a public service then, and donate a few grand so he can splurge on some "high end" furniture

not everyone has the money to buy 10K couches , and even if they did.. some people actually like ikea furniture :2 cents:

Seriously Alex - good point! It's fine if "convenience furniture" is degradable, but otherwise bad news.

Where I am now, there are no - or very few IKEA type stores. It's actually cheaper to have a couple of carpenters in and make anything ya want out of wood.

Simple example... and this is common. You can give them the IKEA or Macy catalogs with furniture pics and they will make the same thing out of real wood at a fraction of the cost.

I got a kinda "farmhouse kitchen table" recently - about 12 ft long and thick top plus 8 chairs to match and cost $320. I'd hate to think of the price in a mall or speciality store for the same thing.

detoxed 01-05-2006 05:52 PM

congrats

Buy "fine" furniture when you're rich. Until then, buy decent/affordable furniture so you can reinvest your saved money to work your way towards becoming rich.

SomeCreep 01-05-2006 06:15 PM

Ikea has a lot of good shit. Everytime I go there, I see something new that I want.

You don't have to be rich to buy good furnitures that will last forever and be moved from places to places without falling appart. Stores like http://www.restorationhardware.com sell some decent furnitures that are not every expensive and will last for for a very long time.

sexgayfree 01-07-2006 06:37 AM

ikea's boss is a nazist...
from: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/855984.stm
"It was she who infected the young Ingvar with enthusiasm for Adolf Hitler, whose seizure of her Sudeten homeland she regarded as liberation"

from: http://observer.guardian.co.uk/print...102285,00.html
"Kamprad himself was an enthusiastic Nazi sympathiser, though he now calls this youthful folly"

He seen that to be a nazi was not really good in business few years ago and he decide to call it "youthful folly" but if you surf google looking for friends and people who receive money from the owner of ikea you can realize by yourself that is IS a nazi
He was a personal friend of Swedish Nazi leader Per Engdahl and provided money for the nazi movement.

RayBonga 01-07-2006 06:41 AM

Also love Ikea, the problem with the good furniture that lasts forever is that you're stuck with it. It was expensive and you can't just trow it away beacuse you feel like it.

I know this guy that had several houses he used to rent and recently sold them because he bought a big farm so he got stuck with a huge ammount of the good furniture and has to pay to keep it all stored. He can't get around to trow it away because some of it was receive from a inheritance.
