I got an electric guitar for Christmas... waiting for my amp to be delivered. I'm excited about it. I don't know how to play, but I want to learn! :) I also want an acoustic guitar, a violin, a cello, and a piano! I wish I started when I was younger :Oh crap Oh well, it will be fun anyway!!!

I play the sax every now and then when I'm up for it. I like playing the piano too but I don't have one so I don't play it much.

if you start off learning theory on piano it will make any other instrument you play 100x more understandable

some teachers play both and know theory ... and once you start to 'get it' its actually really cool

:2 cents: put same amt of time into theory as into "learning tunes" and you'll thank yourself couple years down the road - ps never too late to start!!! you are younger than you will be 10 years from now, so you are starting younger ;)

thou my BRO is a GUiTar fanatic, but sorry too say that i never got the chance to play it :)
but if given a chance to learn starting today...guitar would be my first choice too :)

To me nothing beats putting on my Strat, cranking up the Marshalls and wailing out for a few hours after a long day.

I used to play in a band regularly, but the club we were housed at burned down a year ago this christmas... since then I've been too busy.

Actually I played with Area 51 at the Nefertiti lounge in Vegas last January, at Internext. That rocked.

I'm a singer but I wish that I would have learned to play an instrument(s) when I was younger. I'm seriously thinking about taking piano lessons.

i played violin in 4th-5th grade, then moved to viola from 6th till I was about 22 and stopped... Was pretty good, used to be in san diego youth symphony and sat 2nd chair :P

Also play piano too and compose (over 50+ songs so far heh)

I used to be pretty good at Alto Sax, and I just got a acoustic guitar for christmas that I'm getting back into.

I played the trumpet all through middle school and high school. I am learning the electric guitar at the moment. There is a bit of piano lessons in there too but not really enough to remember.

piano player 40+ years.

learn to site read music, then you can look at the sheet and hear the tune in your head, and know a good arrangement from bad.

beginning guitarists should probably start out with chord books.

to be proficient you must practice minimum 1 hr/day every single day.

I play guitar..have an Ibanez electric and two acoustics. I have also been playing the piano since I was 4.

I have played and still mess around with, the flute, sax, stand up bass and guitar
