Epassporte Sucked The Sweat Off My Gay Homosexual Balls

Greetings All:

Oooooook so I've heard my fair share of Epassporte horror stories in the past, but never actually experienced any problems, until now.

What was I trying to do? Simply add $215 to my account via my credit card. Doesn't sound too scary now does it?

Unfortunately, Bank of America thought it sounded scary to them and put a fraud protection hold and the transaction was denied. No problem, I call them up and some friendly British woman takes care of it. I'm free to use my card with them she says.

So, I go back in and add $215.

The next thing I know, my credit card is charged $215 a total of 8 times by Epassporte. SEXY!

What does my Epassporte account show? A balance of $161. Where does this number come from you may ask? No one knows......

I called up their customer support the first time and was on hold for almost 45 minutes while listening to music that was even more gay than I am.

Hang up, call again, and get some guy that sounds like he's high on pot who tells me NO my card was only charged 1 time for $215, and the weird balance was because of some fees that I was never actually billed for but were automagically withdrawn for my convenience.

Apparently Bank of America or Epassporte is fucked up. Wonder which one?

Where is my other $1,500 some odd dollars? Epassporte claims they have no idea, and Bank of America basically said, you guessed it, Epassporte must be high on pot because they submitted authorization requests a total of 8 times.....

Sooooooo I get to talk to some supervisor at Bank of America tomorrow at 10am where I get to tell them that basically they're right, Epassporte may actually all be high on pot.

Hopefully my missing money will turn up. If not, I have a money manager account at Bank of America and they're usually pretty good at taking care of things for me in a fast manner.

Never Ever EVER EEEEEEVER again would I let Epassporte even smell the virtual ink from my credit card numbers. I don't trust them one bit.....

Their company is run like a bunch of 6 year olds playing "banker" with a fisher & price cash register.

I appreciate the offer, but no thank you. I've had enough fun with Epassporte playing with my personal finances for one week.

I'll have Bank of America take care of it all for me.

I lub them long time!

I've never needed to do a charge back in my life, and from what I understand, this situation won't necessitate one either since the charges haven't actually posted yet (hence why I need to contact them early tomorrow).

From my perspective, once a company cluster fucks the hell out of a situation as bad as this, I'd rather have it taken care of via the bank instead of giving them further access to my accounts.

you're ass is going to be ripped open considerably wider than it currently is if you do chargebacks ...

also .. ive noticed sometimes epass APPEARS to be charging a few times for 1 transaction and BOA shows it as multiple charges when infact they are just "holding" the funds ...they are released back to you usually within a few days. American Banks show pending transactions while most other banks around the world do not - again this is only from my experience.

Read my post above re: chargebacks.

buddyjuf 01-09-2006 02:09 AM

I have been using epass for over a year and never any problems

HOWEVER

I have heard nothing but horror stories with people using epass credit cards

I simply use epass to get paid, to transfer money to other epass accounts, and withdraw money from the ATM

SmokeyTheBear 01-09-2006 02:09 AM

its funny how when a problem occurs nobody ever knows what the problem is or who can fix it.. lol

I once used my epass card to take money out from a bank machine and the bank machine didnt have enough cash to give me what i ordered . ( i think it was like 200 or 500 i asked for and it gave me like $80 or something , then said " ateempting to reverse transaction" then " failed"

so i check my epass , and sure enough the full amount is missing.. so i call epassporte and they say "never heard of that i would contact the bank " , im like " it was a bank machine " they said go to the nearest bank to the bank machine " , i explain it was a kiosk operated by a bank in another city " so they tell me to go there and i go and speak to the bank manager , and suprise suprise they tell me the exact same thing " hmm never heard of that , but its not our fault , contact your credit card company " lol so im lke well it was your bank machine , and i tell them im not leaving till they give me my money , so they get me to contact them (epass)on speakerphone , and once again epass tells me its the banks fault.., but this time i say " im actually at the bank now and they say its your fault" and so the epass guy gets his boss , and they fix the problem like whamo..

it wasnt a big deal but , why does everyone blame the other guy..

I think you're confusing BOA "credit cards" with BOA "debit cards".

the little logo on the bottom makes it exactly the same thing without the credit line. "VISA"

debit visa cards can hold funds just like any CREDIT visa can.

That is not entirely accurate. Real moneys are held from your checking account when an auth+hold is placed on your cc via a debit card, where a credit card merely reduces your available credit line (or nothing at all is visibly changed, depending on your bank).

:thumbsup

I'm not trying to be a bitch. But I can confirm the 45 - 90 minute hold on the phone and the general lack of customer support.

We have 7 employees and I know they can sleep on the job. (I believe I already said that to you on ICQ.) And it's a tight-rope act.

You have to balance the drama of firing, re-intergration and training of a new employee. With the crap you have to tolerate from a "less than enthusiastic" worker.

But there is a saying that for every person that complains, there are 5 that don't. If GFY and the Epassporte drama threads that keep poping up are are any indication of what is going on in your organization.

Then it is time to cut loose a few your "Non-performers."

There is a time to be nice and a time to NOT be nice.
When it comes to money...
The time to be nice is VERY small.

If someone screwed up and took your money.
Rip em really big and do what you have to do.

In the end, you're doing them a potential favour.
The company will either learn from it's mistakes or another will come to take its place.

I'm securing my sig spot because I think epass is only good for getting paid and withdrawing the money from an ATM. Thats it

studiocritic 01-09-2006 02:36 AM

Is it me or has Epassporte has managed to upset seemingly every webmaster one by one..

adultchica 01-09-2006 02:44 AM

So far so good with epassporte.

I hope u get it all resolved though boyalley

flashfire 01-09-2006 02:51 AM

that sux...but I'm not suprised

V_RocKs 01-09-2006 03:27 AM

How I deal with it...

Get paid a few grand via epassporte (ie. don't load it with your own money)...
Spend it on shit and withdrawl the rest...

When something happens, wish they still were part of Paycom.net...

When all else fails, start a GFY thread about it... It will get fixed lickety split and they will add it to the KnowledgeBase their support staff work from...

The Sultan Of Smut 01-09-2006 03:37 AM

Crap, I was hoping that I wouldn't see another one of these threads now that I've got my card. I used it drunk on New Years to pay for drinks and once to withdraw money without problems. After all these threads I think I'll go back to cheques and wires.

hm, never heard of that ;)

But seriously I've never in my life had an experience where the ATM was out of money, quite often though the ATMs are out of specific notes, so if you want to withdraw say 320 bucks but the ATM doesn't have 20s it'll warn you and display the message "only 300 is availible, is that acceptable?"

but yet again I live in Africa, as we all know we're quite advanced here ;)

Michael O 01-09-2006 03:53 AM

With thousands of webmasters using ePassporte there unfortunately always will be some that feel they had a bad experience or don't get the support ePassporte tries to provide for every customer.
If any of you have problems or issues please contact me and I'll get right on it, I am rarely offline for more than 8 hours at a time and I'll answer you as soon as I get your message/email.

In the 2 months I've been with ePassporte I have seen big improvements and I know that everyone at ePassporte are working hard on improving every aspect of ePassporte to make it even better.
Everytime someone posts about a problem or a suggestion on how to improve ePassporte it is noted. Just because I am the one the posts most on behalf of ePassporte, it doesn't mean that every thread about ePassporte isn't read by the people making the decisions.

pocketkangaroo 01-09-2006 04:46 AM

Regardless of the history with ePassporte, I would do a chargeback. This has nothing against ePassporte, but a sheer business decision.

First, there was an error and it seems like that error resides on the side of ePassporte. Perhaps the submit button was clicked to many times, perhaps a small glitch, either way, there was an error made. He attempted to fix the problem with ePassporte, was put on hold for 45 minutes, and then got an answer that didn't really make much sense to him. With that said, ePassporte was given the opportunity to fix the issue and didn't. Considering we are talking $1500, a chargeback is probably the hassle free way to handle this.

well the even stupider thing was after the machine denied me the full amount i asked for , there were several other people waiting in line to ue the ATM , and i said " i wouldnt use that ATM it just ripped me off, and only gave me $80 " and the lady behind me ignored me and used the machine anyways and gave her her money ( she was only getting $60 ) , so the machine obviously had enough money in it..

btw after talking to the bank later about it , they informed me sometimes the bank machine will put a limit on the amount each person can have if the machine is low on cash..

Spankys Teens 01-09-2006 11:40 AM

You know, shit happens all the time if its epassport or not.
Like some other dude said here, the main fustration is that people point at each other.
That;s a real bummer....

Good luck

Rep 01-09-2006 11:59 AM

I have an employee that I pay weekly via Epassporte and go through shit with them every week because I use BOA. Several phone calls to BOA to try to straighten it out and allow Epassporte's bank to get the funds each time, emails to Epassporte to try to resolve the situation and contact BOA themselves.

Bottom line is that yes there are problems, but there aren't many other solutions to sending real-time funds overseas.

Epassporte could really use some competition, maybe that'll improve service.
