Backup your emails and your bookmarks. Possibly your cookie settings. Install a virusscanner first thing after installing windows and whatever you do, do not visit any other sites than Windows Update when you have Windows installed again. Make sure your computer is completely up to date (takes 2 hours) before messing about with anything else.

good advices,

i format all my computers and reinstall every 30 days or so, i like how it keeps them fresh, so to speak.

sometimes i forget to back up an email or 2, and forget bookmarks too- oh and passwords, so i created a file with all that info in it, helps a bunch

When you have reinstalled everything you should use Norton Ghost to 'clone' the drive then next time you want to format your C drive you can just run ghost, which means you don?t have to waste time reinstalling all your programs, setting up email etc. I find it a great time saver :)

make sure youve got all your passwords on a file somewhere, I have mine in XLS, FF keeps them and if your cache is gone, your pw are too...
