wgen I moved to this house I didn't have a connection for 2 weeks, I think I watched 1 million DVDs, I know I wached 'The barbershop' about 7 times

how can one go on without the internet

When my internet connection goes down, I use my blackberry plugged into my laptop and use the EDVO high speed connection. It's not as fast as my 8MB cable but it's a hell of a lot faster then dial up and I can still do everything.

My internet is always on and off here. It's like having a lifeline suddenly cut every time.

Internet is GFYers life. Can you imagine life without it?

I go in the living room. I get the unprotected wi-fi of someone across the street...

Or I use my blackberry if really urgent.... .

It really sucks especially when something needs to get done.

when your connection goes down it is time to find an unprotected network
ie your neighbors or a coffee shop with WIFI that you can hack.
plenty of them around.

my internet and tv was down for a few hours last week.... it was hell, but i got my desk cleaned off and took a shower :winkwink:

Hey, all you people who nab wireless connections: do you check your stats and surf boards with it? Don't forget that anyone in range of the access point can capture and view every packet...

The internet is such a big part of the day it's kinda scary.

Has anyone considered redundant connections? Once wireless becomes available here I hope to have a fully redundant setup with two upstream links...
