But I agree with Lens, it would just be a spam board and no one would read it, people would be making announcements all day long, much like they do in the general forum, although it would get out of hand, and noe of the people here have the time or would given the time, dig through and regulate said posts or announcements...

No it doesnt. With announcment sections, all you get is crap links and spam. Nothing on those announcment board are even worth looking at.

Even when I post a new thread looking for a specific program or content, 99% of that is crap links, or spacedog referal links.

sounds good to me. i would browse through an announcement board if i knew that it wasn't just a bunch of spacedog's and spammers posting referral codes.

An announcements board might be very useful in my opinion. And for everyone here who thinks that no one reads it, go check other boards and see that this section there are doing fine.
