I'm watching the news, there is a forensic lab kit for sale that tests DNA to see if your partner is cheating on you. lmao

I saw this on the Today show earlier and had to post about it.

Now thats a buisness idea. Just have them send in their own dna sample and a suspect sample, then you just randomly send them an answer. Say there is a margin of error due to the fact that the field is still advancing everyday...cha ching :)

I have a degree in biology. I don't think its a DNA test. I think it's a fluid test, so it will tell you "yes, it's sperm" but not much more.

But hey, you could always get yourself a gel electrophoresis and a pcr mini-cycler and start your own CSI!

so in other words the test is completely useless ? unless you plan on doing crotch swabs of your partner. Unmatched dna on underwear or something similar would be far from conclusive proof.

If you have to go that far to find out if your partner is cheating, you shouldn't be together in the first place.
