i would love to see bellsouth block google cause they wont pay. then see how fast bellsouth loses customers.

the lec's are so mad they dont control communications anymore..... but there isnt much they can do about it these days.

It would be easy,
start by blocking 20% of calls to google. move to 30, then forty and if peoplecomplain say it is on the google pipe that the problem is, and recommend some search engine that does pay

hmm, never thought of that. but i would think that the other guys wont pay either... if any of the portals caved and paid, every isp would start charging...

Bill Smith of Bell South told reporters that he wanted "to charge Yahoo Inc. for the opportunity to have its search site load faster than that of Google Inc." Google has responded with an unequivocal no -- a flat refusal to pay blood-money to carriers to keep them from discriminating against its services. Honestly, what the hell is BellSouth thinking? The whole point of an ISP is that it delivers the same packets as every other ISP; anything else is substandard. There's only one Google, but T1s come and go.
Google's Barry Schnitt told Paul in an email: "Google is not discussing sharing of the costs of broadband networks with any carrier. We believe consumers are already paying to support broadband access to the Internet through subscription fees and, as a result, consumers should have the freedom to use this connection without limitations."

Google doesnt "cause" isp's to use bandwidth, the customers do..

That would be like a mechanic charging "ford" everytime someone fixed and PAID for a repair on fords.

Its completely the opposite way it should work .. if users are incurring lots of bandwidth because google is so good. google should be CHARGING the isp's if anything..

The more bandwidth you use the more your isp can charge you , so google is only "helping" the isp's

Example.. if i wasnt using google and not using so much bandwidth , i wouldnt need a top notch connection , i would use a smaller isp package..

Someone is just asking to get an anti-trust lawsuit slapped on them.
