Suicide Girls now paying $1000!!!

And all you have to do is sign a contract that they own you, your name, your image, all your tattoo images, etc, for 30 years....

Yes, it's true... they are paying girls $1,000 for a 30 year contract... and the sad part is, some girls are actually taking the deal.

Fucking tools.

sickkittens 01-23-2006 08:17 PM

Haven't they always been doing that?

aico 01-23-2006 08:19 PM

no, they used to pay $300 for a photoset. Now when you sign the contract, you get $1,000 and for the next 30 years you can never work for another site.

aico 01-23-2006 08:21 PM

and they didn't own the right to your tattoo images either... now they are saying they do, if you sign the contract that is.

SomeCreep 01-23-2006 08:24 PM

suicidegirls sucks fat eggs

Jman 01-23-2006 08:26 PM

good damn you have to be light headed to take a 30 year contract for a quick buck

eroswebmaster 01-23-2006 09:05 PM

hmmm...I'm not real knowledgable about contracts etc..but I thought that things changed because of the Elvis / Colonel lifetime contract..and now they only go 7 years.

In addition to being paid for your photosets, there are all sorts of perks just for SuicideGirls!

You'll get free membership to the site, the coveted pink SG panties, stickers and other goodies from the shop.

Your journal will reach millions of people, and you're free to advertise your projects, events or art.

Just from being featured on SuicideGirls, girls have been hired to appear in music videos, tv shows, radio shows, film and music festivals, fashion shows, countless magazines and advertising campaigns.

HorseShit 01-23-2006 09:09 PM

congrats to all the girls that take up the offer

Or the people who talk out their asses. Since one of my models is an ex-suicide girl I do believe I am more "in the know" then you are...

It's a new contract they just started doing, because of all the girls leaving to go to other sites like Gods Girls.com

If you don't know what it is you are talking about, don't open up mouth to speak.

Yes, no one has ever exaggerated or lied ever.

Not saying you are 100% wrong, but their site has the info clearly spelled out on it.

Actually, since I am a Suicide Girl, I belive I am more "in the know" then you are.

I understand you're trying to protect your model's interests (or something like tht) but I don't understand what slandering her former company (and this isn't the first time you do it) will accomplish.

Monique Niccole 01-23-2006 09:17 PM

A lot of these girls do it not so much for the money but for the "goth prestige" and sense of community that SG tries to make them believe that they are a part of. The line of bullshit they feed them is almost as exploitative as the money and contracts they have them sign.

I suppose your model, who left the site long ago, knows a lot more than an active Suicide Girl with 2 friends currently going through the application/acception process, right?

It's copied off the site. However, it's still true. My online store generates significant revenue and the majority of my traffic (around 65-70%) comes from SG. And I know of at least a couple of girls who have been paid to model or appear in music videos after appearing on SG.

I would have to wonder about the legality of such a contract if it ever existed.

There's a reaon they put limits on agent/talent contracts and if I recall it was to avoid basically indentured servitude.

How can you tell someone they can't go work for another website for 30 years...LOL.

So they use you one time and you can't work ever again? I would like to see such a tactic cross over into mainstream fashion...."sorry Kate you were on Vogue so you can't be on the cover of another fashion magazine for 30 years." Laughable.

I have another story that kind of goes along with this one.

You see it involves Phil Collins and the song Tonight, Tonight.

Phil witnessed a murder on a beach and instead of going to the cops...LOL okay I'm not going to waste any more time.

You would suppose correctly... it's a NEW contract, not offered to all the girls, just their top girls that they would want to own the rights to for 30 years, not every girl who is on Suicide Girls is considered a top model.

My model didn't leave, she was banned for starting her own site. And the information didn't come from her, it came from their photographers...

Anything else you want to try and look smart on?

Playboy does the same thing, not for 30 years, but if you shoot for Playboy and don't already have a website, then you can't have one for a specific number of years.

LOL, why are you arguing with me? I didn't make the contract, I am just passing along the information given to me by very reliable sources in the industry over the weekend.

oh so they get a membership that costs $48 for a year, a pair of probably $10 panties, and some stickers... woo hoo, what a fucking deal, how can they resist?

I know more girls that have appeared in movies, music videos, playboy, fhm, maxim, stuff, front and more, who were never suicide girls, so what's your point?

I can't see the 30 years holding up in court, but it is a nice way to scare your more gullible models into not shooting for anyone else, eh? How many are going to take it to court and how many are just going to be bullied?

Because your information is highly suspect. I don't care who told you the information. People love drama, and they love repeating bs rumors they hear at work.

Like I said up above. I would love to see such a contract hold up in court.

You state Playboy has a similar contract for x amount of years. I can see a small # of years but 30...sorry no unless suicide girls came here and stated this was their policy or you showed me a contract I would have trouble believing it.

Hahaha... You're awesome. I'd love to know what you stand to gain with your lies. I may not be considered a top girl, but I'm good friends with many of the girls who would be considered top girls, a few of whom I spend time with on a regular basis (read: they're close friends that I see all the time). I also have 2 friends who were accepted to the site recently, one who received her contract less than a week ago. I can assure you that if a word of what you're saying is true, I'd be well aware of it.

Let's see... who is more trustworthy? A webmaster for an ex-SuicideGirl's website, or an actual active SuicideGirl with many other SGs as close friends. I'll let the public decide.

Of course, if you can provide us some sort of proof of your allegations, I'll gladly eat my words.

Ok, but when you hear what I say is true, or somewhat true (cuz I agree details can get a bit exaggerated as they are passed on), you have to come here and say "AICO was right, sort of".

I have nothing to gain from it, just thought it was crazy when I heard so I posted it.

Gladly. I'm adult enough to admit when I'm wrong.

Think of it like this, for a minute. You're saying this applies to/is being offered to the most popular girls on the site. The most popular girls on the site typically do 2-3 photosets a year. That's $600-$900 a year, $1200-$1800 in 2 years. Why would they settle for a flat $1000 payout, especially if it doesn't specify how many sets they'd have to do? They could simply refuse and model for God's Girls or something else.

maybe the $1,000 is an additional contract/payment... to make sure they never work for another site... since many did, and it totally pissed SG off.
