Well, with a recommendation like that, I'll give you 5 bucks for it provided you pay postage.:winkwink:

The best thing you can do for your swing is go to the driving range. There's one here that has something like 50 balls for $4. Hit 2-3 buckets of balls a day for 3-4 days. When you're on the range, ask the old guy next to you what you're doing wrong. Old guys are always ready to help a newbie I have found. I was slicing the ball every single time. No matter what I tried, I couldn't stop. Some old guy at the range told me I was looking away from the ball a split second before I hit it. He told me not to look up until I heard the "PING". Goddamnit he was right. Now I only slice when I get drunk (back 9).

I have a driving range in San Diego that stays open until 2am during the Summer... My golfing improves dramatically when I can get out to the driving range and just practice! I agree with Kman... spend a few hundred and get a trainer - they will show you more in 60 minutes than any training device!!!

kmanrox 04-13-2002 12:08 PM

monkey, which one is this? stadium golf or del mar?

Driving range is the best idea, I think. If you get there when
the pro is, you can get a stall next to them and listen to what
they say during lessons to other people for free.

None of those gimmicks work....they are only that: gimmicks. All
they do is pad the PGA Pro's pockets with endorsement $$$.

Professional golfers average one lesson a week. Weekend golfers average one lesson in their lifetime.

Sorta shows you where the money would be best spent, eh...

I used to golf a ton when I was in school and am getting back into it now. What amazes me is how much effect advanced club technology has now. Back in the day, a 300 yard drive was massive. Now, it seems everyone does it. Also, it seems that today's clubs are WAYYY more forgiving.
