How do you increase your PR?
I'm a noob with SEO n shit... how do you increase your page rank and how long does it take?
|
ask for it in your prayers dude, works evertime
|
Get incoming links + it will take months
|
incoming links from high pr sites. it wont display till the next pr update, theres one coming pretty soon.
|
The easiest way is to buy it. Email your Google representative for details and a price sheet.
|
How does google measure PR and why do some of my sites go from a PR5 to a PR3 and back up to a PR4 for example?

How often does google update the page rank?

alcohol works good

Ok, Seriously, don't even attempt to cheat Google. Google will know... Just try to create 10's/ 100's/ 1000's of genuine well laid out informative pages.. If you attempt to cheat Google you will be sandboxed..
Whilst you are creating your well designed pages, get incoming links - note, every outgoing link will reduce your incoming link by 1/3rd. If your site is interesting then others will link to you (Googl'e thought).. otherwise get linked in Yahoo! and MSN.. |

PR means jack shit - its just so guys can say my dick is bigger than yours
I have pr0 sites that get alot of traffic from yahoo and even google itself and I have pr5 sites that do jackshit traffic is king and will remain so |
What you want is traffic, right? PR does mean jack shit. Even a noob knows that some sites with PR3's get more traffic than PR7's -- :winkwink:

PR does mean something (in Google's eyes) it means the difference between page 200 for a particular search term or page 1 or 2..
I know for a fact that a high ranking site will rise further in the Google rankings than a low PR site.. |

People who fixate on PR lose sight of traffic.
People who fixate on traffic lose sight of PR. PR is a good tool for measuring the effectiveness of what you've been doing to gain search engine exposure. If your site is staying at PR0 or PR1, you might want to consider taking steps to improve it - this should be a warning that you're not utilizing search engines as effectively as you could. However, if you're a dumbass who wastes money just to get a PR6, and don't get enough convertable traffic, then you've lost sight of what PR is useful for. |
I make a lot of money from pr0 sites. I also have plenty of pages on page 1 and 2 of google from the same sites that have a pr0.
The bottom line is to have targeted traffic coming in and know what to do with them once they arrive. DWB = pr0 for life. |
LOL -- I know the value of PR, but this thread raises the very important issue of considering PR against both query volume and the number of other sites out there on the same subject.
Consider the following query: http://www.google.com.au/search?hl=e...S earch&meta= It returns 12,200 pages, and the #1 result is a PR6 -- www.mastergardeners.org. But the top listing on page 2 -- www.grimonut.com has already dropped to a PR4. Now consider this query: http://www.google.com.au/search?q=cs...st art=0&sa=N It returns 2,530,000 pages, and the #1 result is a PR8 -- www.w3schools.com. But to page 10, and the top listing is also a PR8 -- www.slashcode.com What does all this mean? It means a few things actually...it means that the more pages about a topic there are in the index, the higher the PR necessary to place high in the SERPS. It also means that Google returns pages, not sites, and that greater relevancy to a query can make a lower PR site displace a higher PR site. I think the number one mistake people make when they go for particular SERPS is they show little imagination in conceiving the queries that the searcher is actually going to type. Hope this helps -- :) 2hp |
Want hardlinks? Pussyluvers.com is a PR5 and has 20 sub-pages all with a toplist. You can have a hardlink (1 left to sell) for $40/mo or $60 for two months.
If the PR falls below the PR5, you get an extra month on the links. ICQ if interested. |

Don't worry about PR, worry about ROI and just get the traffic flowing anyway you can. |
Ideally, you want links on RELEVANT high PR sites.
If you can't get that, get links on sites with just high PR. |

I fully agree. Check out www.charlierobot.com its been live in Google for 3 months and has PR 0, but gets 300 unique hits daily .... have many PR 4 and 5 sites which get the same traffic. focus on good links and good content - use www.charlierobot.com as it will keep you on track and by Feb www.charlierobot.com will be PR5. |
simple, increase incoming links while decreasing your outgoing links.
|
You bring WiredGuy out for a fun weekend ;-)
|
PR means shit? That must be why I rank top 10 within 48 hours after I upload new pages :)
Actually PR isn't updated enough so a lot of the time it's not to relevant. |
