So the planet been havin some issues with this softlayer company thats made up by a bunch of former the planet employees so I decided to move 2 servers that I use for mainstream hosting to another provider as it looks like things are getting ugly over at the planet

Thursday I login to the SAGO site order up a server and wait for a configuration email. Never comes so I call saturday and im like what;s the freakin deal. the guy said no worry have ya up soon

after callin about 10 times this morning and talking to a bunch of country bumpkins I get a guy on the phone who sounds like homer simpson. he tells me he has no clue etc etc etc but that (insert customer service chick name here) would call me back and get it all setup

she just called and told me to fax a copy of my credit card back and front and a copy of my driver licse

im like WTF are you crazy

bottom line they will not be around long not to mention they are a block from the ocean:Oh crap

I had a similar problem, signed up, faxed my CC and drivers license over, was told my server would be setup by Monday (this was Thursday or something), on monday I call up and no one has heard of me.

I don't know why anyone would deal with a host that causes that much hassle over a simple dedicated server. Its not as if you're buying two full cabinets and 200Mbps of bandwidth on a gigabit pipe.


Sago really needs to reform their business model, since there are so many other places leasing dedicated servers on a cash and carry model.

Use a company that is well known.

I had a Windows server there. I logged on to it and I was just surfing the web with IE and it was so slow it couldn't even load cnn.com. Their network was shit!

i use allmanaged (sagonet manage service) and didnt have any problems with them...

perhaps its time to do business in an easier way, feel frree to just call me 714 717 5813
