San Francisco SUCKS......
....because it's cold, wet, windy AND bars close at 2pm.
So lame and so not fun. Holly and I cabbed across half the universe to get to a shitty club that had NO good alcohol and ugly people. We wound up back at our hotel bitching about the experience (and surfing GFY)! So lame and such a disappointment. GET ME BACK TO LA. Please. |
Go to North Beach tomorrow and have brunch at the Steps Of Rome. You will be feeling better in no time. Or go to 6th & Market at night and you will be thankful you are still alive.

I'd move ther tomorrow if I could afford it and I wouldn't miss the UK too much.

there would be some 700,000 residents who may disagree...or agree !! let's here from some of them....
|
FRISKO rules ! ! !
|
San Francisco is one of the best city in the world...
Way better than L.A which sucks ass !! Frisko rules ! |
I love San Fran!
Too bad you guys didn't have any fun :( I usually have no problems finding a good time in the Bay! |
I think she meant 2 AM. I don't know what kind of bar would close at 2 pm. Unless they open at 5 pm and don't close until 2 the next day :D
Oh, and if you think the weather in San Fran constitutes being "cold"... you don't know what cold is. I'd say come up to Winnipeg to find out, but it's actually been the warmest January here in, well... forever. It's actually going to go a few degrees above freezing here today. Our measly 2 to 3 feet of snow will be melting. But we have some fantastic bars. :D |
What club did you go to? Try 181 or loft 11 for a club atmosphere. If you like yuppies go check out the Marina, personally I don't like it much but there's a lot of bars down there. If your in North Beach stay off Broadway, its a bridge and tunnel crowd. The only place I like on Broadway is Enricos, they make really good mohitos. Don't go to Steps of Rome either, awful food. Take a stroll up Columbus to Powell, there's a lot of bars tucked away off the main street.
If you make it up to the the haight area check out Nickies BBQ, its a small club but it gets crowded. If your looking for a see and be seen type crowd check out the Redwood Room at the Clift. There's tons of good places to go, if none of these sound good post what your looking for and I'll steer you in the right direction. |
Gotta stand up for the city I love!
The weather is typical of this season, playa. The best bars this time of year are the (privately owned) dive bars that have fireplaces and stay open SUPER late (and allow smoking). I wish I would have known you were looking for cuties...would have sent some boys and girls over to play.
Next time. Next time. |
You can get weed delivered at least
|
San Francisco is full of liberal loonies too.
|
cold, wet, windy .. than there's ton of cities sucking in North America right now... :1orglaugh
|
wet & windy always beats the frozen rain/sleet street sluch crap & frackin cold of Montreal. We do have an extra hour for the bars though :) Some pretty peoples here too ;) Good luck getting somewhere you like!
|
I visited San Fran last year and 2HP was a fantastic host.
I had a blast there! Matt |

Ok, ok. I digress. It definitely has it's good points. I just failed to see them last night after 3 jager shots. a 7 mile uphill walk to the hotel and NO bars open after 2am.

Keep in mind it was a random ass Monday night when not much is going on regardless. The weather is kinda shitty right now so I agree there....but also keep in mind this is as cold as it ever gets. I was wearing a t-shirt and light jacket and was fine even though it was rainy and cold out. I can't really complain considering it is January. I do love the warmth of Southern Cali and do wish it would get warmer here. You guys super luck out on that :-) We'll definitely have to all hook up again when there's more to do :-) :thumbsup |
I LOVE San Fran ... Sorry to hear you are having a bad time ...

Bar closing at 2 am is a a lot of different places... and yes this sucks ;) here they close at 3 am, but on the other side of the bridge (often 5-10 mins drive) they close at 2.
|
SF sucks ass, I hated it when I went in August.
|
I hate LA
|
Dont all the bars in CA close at 2am unless they are private?
|
I love SF!
|
They stop serving at 2am but there's also some after hours clubs, I'd recommend 181. It stays open until 4am.

theres plenty of afterhours in san francisco :) sound factory is awesome. so underground too. have evan from xpays take you around. or i can call one of the djs up there in the city and they will make sure you find the right spots. |
2AM you mean, just like every other city in the state.
Sorry, but as a native son, if you don't like it, please feel free to stay out. I have to wonder who did not already know that The City is cold, foggy and windy. Even if you had never been there, certainly you must have read a book or seen a movie or tv show that was based in The City. |
Okay, okay yes the weather sucks right now but I'm sorry dear there are plenty of places open after 2am; Suede, Ruby Skye, 181, EndUp and many many more... you were wearing cute little heels walking uphill to the hotel weren't you? That my dear would piss me off too.
|
San Fran is a beautiful and picturesque city with jaw dropping views. Totally different vibe than LA.
But I'd say you're right, in terms of being a party town its not known for that. Only the big 4 are where the club scene action going late late night happens. NYC, LA, Miami, and Vegas. |
I absolutely love SF, one of my favorite places to visit. I thought I would like L.A. too, but I was wrong. I dread everytime I have to go there. S.F. and Vegas are my 2 favorite places to visit in the U.S.

Just ask around and find out where are the popular places are these days, I'm not "hip" anymore so I'm not sure if they have changed. The coldest it gets in the city is 45-50....if you consider that a cold winter you are nuts. Stick to the crotch of California that is LA. |

For the record, of course I have been here and know the weather...which doesn't make it any more pleasant when it's raining down on my drunk head at 2am with nothing to do but wait for a taxi in my high heels and then go home and complain on GFY. That will make a girl grumpy EVERY time! :winkwink: (and no, I won't stay out you big meanie! *sticks tongue out at BadDog*) |

to bad you got it all wet and moldy. |
I beg to disagree... But thank you for expressing your honest opinion, anyway.
