State of the Union

Is anyone else expecting this to be a complete trainwreck as I am? :Oh crap

I'm expecting nothing but an hour of hearing about the strong economy (with massive defecits and a weak dollar), success in Iraq (hundreds of billions flushed down the toilet), the "sacrifice" made in New Orleans and how it is similar to 9/11, and some moralist/Christian agenda, possibly in this war against porn.

If it weren't so gravely serious, it would be comical. Between the made up words, and re-phrased rhetoric, a transcript of it would be on an eighth grade reading level :1orglaugh

Maybe he could talk a little about his approval numbers, all of the Republicans that have been / are about to be indicted on various charges, Iran and their nuclear aspirations, North Korea and their nuclear aspirations, then he can assure us that "hey at least we got rid of the WMDs that weren't in Iraq"!

I'd love to hear his exist strategy for Iraq too, and see if it involves cookies in any way shape or form.

Also, I'm still holding out hope he brings up us gay homosexuals again this year. I do so love getting gay bashed by the President in his national address each year.

Maybe he should just skip all that boring political talk and just up and lead congress in a prayer session this year?

Very True. But that's insulting to 8th graders the world over!

"Trainwreck" is a huge understatement.

He'll never mention his approval numbers, because he's starting to alienate himself from his own party :1orglaugh

There are many Republicans who have grown tired of his moral crusades and spending escapades, and are silently waiting for him to vacate office in 2008. Even though many Republicans are still voting along party lines, I would not be suprised one bit if the silent majority in his party stands against what he has been doing.

Of all the people I know who vote Republican, Bush only has the support of two of them (and believe me, I know a lot of Republican voters)
