Anybody ever use the patch to help quit smoking?

Does that shit work? I smoking heavy again and I wake up and my chest feels like shit. I go play hockey and I can hardly breath. Time to quit. (AGAIN)

I smoked more with the fucker on.. only way i was able to quit was cold turkey and with my bf, BoyAlley, hounding my ass 24/7. .. been quit 7 yrs now.

Almost 2 months here. Quit cold turkey. I started 4 days before the Vegas Internext show, I figured if I could go through that, I'm done for good.

I have the patch on right now.
Calm blue oceans.
Calm blue oceans.

Actually, the patch has helped me quit smoking a few times, though each time, I caught retarded, and went back months later of being patch and smoke free.

Don't wear that shit while you sleep though. You'll have the most messed up, vivid dreams ever.

I find they are awesome until I hit the 3 week mark... then they don't help me at all :disgust

Yeah the dreams are very vivid... I had to give up wearing them when I slept!

The patch only helps.

_You_ have to really want to quit smoking if you're going to quit smoking. (notice the period)

I used the entire step-down system just as they lay it out for you, but it still was a pain in the arse, and the week after I stopped using the patch was pretty hellacious (especially the 2 days after I was 100% nic-free)

But ya... smoked a pack a day for 8-years, and quitting with the patch was easier than the time I gave myself a 6-month "cold-turkey" trial a couple years before that....

Just gotta set a date, and stick to the date. Realize you'll always be an addict (hell, even 5 years smoke-free, I still get the urge to light up now and then), and stick to your guns.

my husband used the patch - he actually wore it for almost a year, each week cutting it smaller and smaller. I know that's not how its suposed to be done.. but i think to him having something on his arm made him feel better mentally.. not sure if it physically helped or not. Anyways, he's been smoke free for 3+ years now. :)
