The Jewish View of Jesus
According to the New Testament and the Christian church, Jesus is divine, the son of God, the Messiah. In sharp contrast, Jews believe Jesus was a man - period. Jesus - The Man Jews believe that Jesus was a Jew who was born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee, and killed in Jerusalem. Like other Jews in his day, Jesus spoke and wrote the Aramaic language. His own Aramaic name was Yeshua. Like other educated Jews in his day, he was faithful to the law of Moses, learned in Jewish scriptures and oral law, steeped in the spirit of the Pharisees (the leading religious teachers of his day), and expectant of the coming of the Messianic Era (which he called the "Kingdom of God"). In his day, many people called Jesus "rabbi." But you already know this all Juicy..... |
Jesus was Jewish, not surew about Mohammed, downloaded the Koran couple of months ago, I don't think I'll ever find the time to read it
|
In essence Jerusalem is Holy to all 3 Religions

BTW... Some think he was a Jewish pseudo-Messiah. I think it's all hard to find out/prove. Did I mention I'm not a believer? :) |
No matter what he was....... we know for sure that he was a boxing god :pimp

This is a wierd thread.
Jesus and Mohammed are of the same blood for sure Juicy. And no, none of this stuff that's going on makes any sense. Here's a better question... Jesus was a Jew, how come no one in his homeland believes in him? Why did most of the people that became his biggest supporters not look anything like him. Here's an even better question, why do people give a shit about middle east history. I mean, it's cool to know, but wasn't there stuff going on elsewhere in the world at that time? Did the middle eastern people just know how to tell a better story or something? WTF? |
Muslims believe Jesus was a prophet, but not divine, if I understand correctly and that Mohammed was given God's final instructions for humanity.

Personally, I believe that religion as a whole was implemented for control purposes. :2 cents:

Proof He might have been. Mahammad was born in mecca where most arabs at the time where Bedouins or practiced judiasm pre islam. Good luck finding a straight answer. Pic of Dome of The Rock where islam was created. All three major religions came from this geographical area. http://www.sacredsites.com/middle_ea...anorama_H_.jpg |
oh if you want to get deeper, the story of mahammad himself was made up by a really smart author.
Random thought. People believe in religion becuase they are taught too or the human brain just creates a a thought of higher power. but pre religion there were only men who lived in caves and had to hunt wild beasts for food. |
Jesus was jewish.
Mohammed wasn't jewish. arabs (and mohammed) = descendents of Ishmael (son of Abraham and the slave girl Hagar). jews (and Jesus) = descendents of Isaac (son of Abraham and his wife Sarah). |
