txtnation.com --- anyone have experience with them?
Anyone have experience with this company?
All I know now is their sales rep is very persistent, to the point of being annoying. He must hit me up on email or icq every 3rd day. Why do people do that, when I have made it clear that aggressive sales techniques DON'T WORK ON ME? Steve Lightspeed |
They do it hoping you'll post about them on GFY! Which has happened twice in the past week.
ICQing you now. |
No experience with them, but I know exactlly what you are saying about persistent sales reps. What was that last guy that was trying to sell traffic that was annoying as fuck? Didn't he disappear? Maybe this is him back again.

Here is my story about txtnation.
Txtnation is a very dishonest company. I paid them a setup fee and the monthly fee one time before I finally found out that they decided to stop billing for my websites. Surprisingly, txtnation did not directly inform me. One of my customers forwarded me an email from txtnation which said that they are not legally able to provide billing for my websites. I was shocked that txtnation would treat its merchants and website subscribers with such contempt by continuing to process payments but not telling the webmaster or the customer that "we are not legally able to process payments". People were still joining my site and wondering why they were not receiving a username/password. There were several occasions in which I found usernames/passwords in the password file but no credit was made to my account. Also, there were several times when people wrote me and said they paid with a sms or credit card and never got a password. I checked my account and did not find these transactions. I told them to write to [email protected] but [email protected] normally does not reply. I never got 1 reply from [email protected] I finally started telling my customers to contact individual people at txtnation because [email protected] would not reply. I also sent an email to txtnation asking for a payout but no response. I believe they intended to scam me from the beginning. They get webmasters to pay the sign-up fee and then screw them. I really liked the idea of billing with sms and I did not really care about credit cards. Txtnation has taught me the lession not to trust anyone on the internet who you don't know. I am attempting to reverse the setup fee and monthly fee on my credit card which I paid through worldpay. Last time I checked, worldpay has stopped processing payments for txtnation. txtnation was listed (with worldpay) as selling telecommunications equipment. Actually, they provide billing services ... for adult and non-adult websites ... and worldpay forbids billing for adult websites. I really feel sorry for anyone who uses txtnation. They are a house of cards ready to fall. I can't believe that they started processing payments through ibill. Here, you can see all the credit card processors which they are using to bill for adult and non-adult sites (including ibill which was recently added) mpush.com/payout.php?type=cc I am sure txtnation will post lots of comments in this thread condeming me. The truth is that they approved my sites. I have numerous emails from them over the period of 1 week and they absolutely approved my sites and I did not violate any of their rules. They violated their own contract by not giving me 90 days notice before terminating billing. Another adult site which was billing using txtnation was inbedwithfaith.com If you click on the "bill with sms" option on that site, it now takes you to a credit card billing option instead of directing to txtnation signup. It seems they had problems with txtnation too. If you don't believe my story, contact inbedwithfaith to get their story. |
Their service sucks balls. I signed up for something through them and it was impossible to cancel and refund. I had to eventually call my credit card company to get it removed. Then I got rebilled and had to go through all kinds of shit just to cancel the rebill. I didn't even bother refunding that one cause it was such a hassel. If I weren't in the biz myself I would have definitely charged it all back!!!

Tell me about it. We signed up to use them and they billed the shit out of my phone. We paid the upfront fee to join and I now am going to have to change my mobile number due to the amount of premium rate texts that I get through from them. Personally I would not touch them with a barge pole. I have filed a full report with ICTIS and am goingt continue pushing it untill they get a decent fine. |
Not surprised at all...
Better look for an established provider for your mobile needs. :2 cents: Steve |
Commission to high
If a surfer pays 1 pound (UK) for a premium SMS you get 10 p only. Not a great deal I guess but I might be wrong...

www.bango.com are a much better service for billing your members.

txtnation are a very frustrating company to deal with. We have screenshots proving that our stats actually went in reverse at times, recurring billing is a joke as only about 10% of rebills are paid for. It all adds up to completely untransparent reporting and then to top it all off instead of being paid net 30 they actually paid usabout net 85~. There are better billers out there, the guys at www.smsbiller.com were very helpful though I only used them for a short while.
HTH |
I woldn't touch another sms provider if you paid me they can and will con the fuck out of you period.
txtnation also know as mpush plus a bunch of other names i would stay away |
Wow, glad I asked!

I was looking at doing a mainstream project using one of their white lable programs - im quite glad I didnt. I think the new mobile company fronted by pornstar Tawny Roberts - ecstacymobile.com - uses a lot of their services. it would be interesting to hear what their experiences have been with them as it looks like they are putting a fair amount of time, money and energy into it |
