1) only 2 (both non-standard) thumb sizes are available

88x88 is definately the "standard" size for hosted thumbs. I wonder what is the second size!

And how would you mix various sponsors thumbs with XML-feed and still have a decent looking TGP?

I finished going thru 200 sponsors sites and noticed very few of them offered hosted thumbs. Among those that do offer thumbs, 88X88 is size most available (±6% of sponsors offering it) followed by 90X120 (±5%) then 110X150 (±2%). The other sizes that sponsors provide are:
- 100x100 (less than 1%)
- 100x130 (less than 1%)
- 100X150 (less than 1%)
- 100x133 (less than 1%)
- 125X150 (less than 1%)
- 150X200 (less than 1%)
- 160X160 (less than 1%)
- 120x160 (less than 1%)
- 105X155 (less than 1%)

We have made a software for it. Will go public in 2-3 weeks.

Sorry... I meant that most of TGPs use 90x120. It's a surprise for me that sponsors offer mostly 88x88.

The only way is to get a big thumb first and then pre-resize it in 1px steps. It will be too slow to resize on the fly.

Perhaps the reason why most offer 88X88 is to save as much as possible on BW.
