Round 2: APIC Attacks Lensman / AP Publicly on YNOT Board!

http://www.ynotmasters.com/chat/chat.cgi?T=General

Here is an example of the theft of property that AMATEURPAGES supports and refuses to do anything about.
LENSMAN I assume is a photographer? or?
What photographer doesn't recognize Playboys images??
Yet 20 emails later he still wants proof???

Nothing but stall tactics and refusal to co-operate.
As for Stan, the site is down because someone higher than you knows what they are doing. VERIO had to be notified

i hate unthreaded boards :BangBang:

chodadog 04-23-2002 05:55 AM

APIC are a bunch of fucking 'tards.

chodadog 04-23-2002 05:56 AM

LENSMAN FOR PRESIDENT!!!

Ok, i just want a fucking mousepad already!

FATPad 04-23-2002 06:33 AM

I used to think APIC was a good idea, but until it's run by someone with some degree of professionalism it's just going to be a joke.

Someone wants to help them, asks for info and is refused and slammed as if they're hiding something. *shakes head*

playa 04-23-2002 07:02 AM

LOL,, like lensman really has a problem with terminating cheaters accounts,,,

roadtrip 04-23-2002 07:18 AM

Lens, don't sweat the YNOT the board.

They say they're so anti child porn yet their top
banner ad is always Club Seventeen. The YNOT
network is profiting from child porn, they'll get
their's in the end.

Let it roll off your back, we KNOW you're solid!

Club Seventeen is not CP.

I hope you have a real example of how YNOT profits from CP before you slander them.

Yep, all Club Seventeen models are 18+
Payserve is a respectable company

1) Club Seventeen has no underage models
2) What has YNOT got to do with this?
It is something between mister Lensman and APIC.

Some people don't think before they speak/write.

A North American selling access to pictures of those
under the age of 18 is a crime. I don't care what
Holland's rules are, YNOT is based in the U.S.A.

Also since this is in print, it would be libel, not slander.
However since it's Club Seventeen's practice is to
promote they have 17 year old girls on their site,
my statement would considered "Qualified Privilege"
or "Absolute Privilege" and taking it to court would
likely result in a criminal investigation of the plaintiffs.

Simple first year law, crack a book.

Moron.

YNOT would never ally themselves with producers of CP.
Did you even look at ClubSeventeen's website? I bet not or you wouldn't have missed this little tidbit: All persons depicted herein were over the age of 18 years at the time they were photographed or filmed.

That's clearly written on their main page.

You owe YNOT a public apology. That's a serious goddam accusation and if you can't back it up (as you can't) you're digging a big hole for yourself.

roadtrip,

You are an embarssament to those of us who live in Toronto and actually think before we speak.

The People at YNOT are stand up people that have done nothing but good for our industry.

To sit in your lonely room, at your computer and quote legalese to justfiy your fuck up ( saying that YNOT is Profiting from CP) is wrong.

You made a mistake. Say you are sorry and back away quickly. You might save some face that way.

Even portrayal is a no no...

Obviously, I'm not going to make the guys pulling
cash off this listen. Have your way, I believe you're
sitting on a timebomb until I can walk to the corner
7-11 and buy a copy of their magazine.

You want me to say it's "OK", I can't... It makes me
sick to see such a thing go on.

As to have I been on their site, hell no! I'm not
chancing even 1 pic transitting international borders.
I'll stick to sites that advertise 18 and older.

I heavily believe this is wrong, but thead dropped.

LAJ 04-23-2002 08:15 AM

Three things...

1. Porn Jester -- You have the option to view our boards at YNOT either flat view or threaded view.

2. Thanks to those within this thread who say kind things about YNOT and know who we are.

3. Roadtrip... expect to hear back from us.

Road Trip...what is wrong with you? Do you want to bury yourself with the webmaster community and with a board and great people who can help you?

I think you just needed something to say so you said it...but damn, don't burn HUGE bridges like that over an opinion based on an obivous lack of knowledge.

Think before you write, there are no second chances in this industry.

Is it worth replying to the guy anymore? He's been told several times now that club17 only uses models 18+ but seems either very confused or too illiterate to read it. Either way your banging your head against a brick wall keep trying to get it across to him. As has been said YNOT runs a good board although the layout annoys a bit for me to post there too often.

Cyndalie 04-23-2002 09:26 AM

Road trip if I was you I'd be blubering "I'm sorry", covering my ass and running. :disgust

Both Payserve & Ynot are very reputable companies.

SNIPER 04-23-2002 09:53 AM

Hey RoadTrip...I notice no reply? Nothing to say? No comment on your taste of site promotion?

Hmmmmm silly me....you are probably still removing your foot from your mouth.:1orglaugh

Ive often thought about the legalities of sites promoting international border stuff.

The one example that gets me thinking is the Hun's servers are less than a mile from my house, I live in California... and beastiality is illegal here... I've never gotten much reply on this, but think about it sometimes hahaha

Anyone have any real info on this stuff?

Matt 26z 04-23-2002 06:56 PM

Yes, all models at Club17 are of legal age. Legally there is nothing wrong with these kind of sites. This is not by any means CP. But, I can see how some people could get the wrong first impression.

magick 04-23-2002 07:33 PM

APIC sounds just like the PMRC. What else do these people have to do than harrass webmasters. The law is on our side. Even virtual child porn was declared legal by the Supreme Court in the last few days. If you have proof of age, then the model is legal. End of story.

magick 04-23-2002 07:48 PM

We need to investigate APIC. Who are they?

Not going to make it up there unfortunately, my schedule is way fucked up, but Miami's a go for launch!

Nysus 04-23-2002 08:18 PM

Question for all you people -

Do you not think "Club Seventeen" being a "teen" site, insinuate underaged teenagers, or of the age of 17 years old?

Logic says yes. Whether they have a disclaimer stating that all models are above 18 or not, the site name, such as say "Lolita" sites (lolita is a ban word mind you on most main sites for the implications of underaged it has).

Just curious how you can ignore the obvious.

Cheers,
Matt

AdultWire 04-23-2002 09:50 PM

It's a freakin trademark -- Why don't you go sue Coke contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

AdultWire 04-23-2002 09:51 PM

Better yet, by the logic on this thread, you could get them on manslaughter.

Club Seventeen is the online version of a Dutch magazine that has existed for years. I dunno how long exactly, but I came to Holland in 1981, and I'm pretty sure it was around then. It would make no sense whatsoever to market the online version under another name :)

Let me tell you this again my friends!

Clubseventeen is just a brand name,
all content , all ladies are all over 18 Years old

The brand name has its origin from the time we all were babies!
Child porn will never be found at our websites!

icq 122879984
[email protected]

LAJ 04-24-2002 08:21 AM

Alright... hopefully this will explain a few things.

I have spoken to the people at Club Seventeen as well as YNOT's Pres and legal counsel (my boss) Otto.

Real simple...

1. Club Seventeen clearly states that all of their models are over the age of 18. They are operating legally.
2. There is nothing legally wrong with using '17' in the domain.
3. There is nothing legally wrong with 'depictions' of underage models. The Supreme Court recently ruled in favor of this as well.
4. YNOT doesn't profit from or condone child porn, and never has.

You have disputes with us... take it up with us personally before you go posting false info.

Since "roadtrip" hasn't posted any replies to this thread, am I to assume self admission of wrong doing on his/her part?

A public apology to YNOT, Club Seventeen and GFY is certainly in order here.

LeeNoga 04-24-2002 08:38 AM

We all know YNOT is standup, always has been, always will be, I grew up with YNOT in 1996 early 1997--

But granted the way APIC communicates is not always the preferred way, they also have played a major role in reducing copyright infringement dating back to early YNOT days as well back when they were known as WebPosse.

I have known Steve Easton since 1993, he is a top magazine photographer, and back then I was a CD-ROM publisher for both consumers and legitimate content for BBS Operators.

I believe in APIC, have always supported APIC and in the early years was a spokesman for APIC.

Its an organization for those that shoot, produce or own content, and they have grown quite sophisticated with attorneys, and have quite the clientel at one time perhaps now even--I was a member of APIC since Zmaster was heavily infringed upon in the beginning days, and it protected my assets without breaking my wallet having to hire attorneys.

Celebs, Playboy, Penthouse are their clients and the list goes on...

Im not speaking on this current issue, Im just saying that APIC has been around for many years, and don't just go off for no reason....perhaps this current issue is one big misunderstanding.

Sleepy 04-24-2002 12:09 PM

If Lens has to go to court with APIC I will donate funds and I hope he posts the information here.

Perhaps APIC used to be defenders of copyright but now they are just a group of lawyers fresh out of victims.

I had them ask me for a license on photos I posted to a tgp. I owned those photos and they do not represent me. They had no right to even ask. Whats the scam ? Do they find stolen photos then try to recruite the owner with promises of big settlements ?

Lee, there is a right way and a wrong way. These people have their nose up everyones ass and not just the bad guys anymore. I wouldnt announce your association with them too often.
