Biz thread: video and coder people please
Ok, I wanted to have a little windows media player file start playing when a page opened, and then autoloop indefinitely. Bully for me.
Autostart works fine in firefox, but no go in IE. The looping works in neither. Any ideas or something I'm missing? I've searched and searched forums and everywhichway, but can't get it to work. Do I have to revert to Flash instead? |

Ahhhhhhhahahahhaha
Ok, it works beautifully in IE now, complete with endless iterations and invisible controls. But Firefox calls it an error and asks me to shut down. |

And here is the updated (2005) Mozillazine Embedding thread:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=206216 And here's an interesting bug report: Effects -------------- FireFox v1.5 Windows Media Player v10 (and 9.0) Issue -------------- When creating the <embed> tags, there are a number of attributes ignored by FireFox. The most annoying one is AutoPlay. By default, FF plays all videos period. There is no option to disable a video/stream from playing when the page loads by setting this to False, 0, etc. |
