Pics...long lost for 22 yrs.
 

An old friend I haven't seen in ages dropped by earlier this evening for a visit, and brought with him some very old pics I haven't seen in 22 years.

A couple of shots he'd taken in 1984 of my beloved old '79 Ford F100 stepside (taken in Toronto) - just a few days after the new custom paintjob had been done on the truck ('57 Ford metallic blue with 15 clear coats).

He'd had them tucked away in an old photo album and figured he'd bring them along for nostalgia. I'd completely forgotten the pics even existed - I'd only seen them once...decades ago.

Pic quality ain't the greatest - originally shot with a cheapie film cam. I cleaned 'em up as best I could in p'chop.

Heh...back then I never thought of it as 'pimp' - just customized mostly.

Funny thing, though. The teardrop running lights on the roof - I got away with having red lens for two years before finally gettin' a ticket one night downtown on Yonge St. (only emergency vehicles can have red lenses facing forward on a vehicle by law).

What's funny is that those stepside F100s are actually pretty rare (at least around here).

Yep, they're extremely rare around here as well. They rotted out something fierce - especially the wooden floor in the box, and the tailgate.

They hauled ass nicely, though. That one had a 302cu. with 4-speed manual.

Manual V8 trucks are always a blast! That was definitely a sweet one. :thumbsup

You should see some of the guys around here. They have TV's and Direct TV dishes and sofas. The guy who owns the local grocery store has a bay window in his.

Doubtful - I sold it in '86 and the guy who bought it converted it in to a sled-puller, renamed it 'Bad Habit' and toured the local fairs and tractor-pull shows for a few years.

It WAS featured in a Platinum Blond video back in the early 80s when I owned it, though...shot down at Nathan Phillips Square.

Yeah, it was a very nice surprise seeing the old pics again after all this time. Small details tend to blur over the years, and photos are like a visual time machine.

As for photos I'm on - I would imagine I'm in an awful lot, since I live close to Niagara Falls and I do a LOT of photography down there each year. During the summer everyone and their dog have cameras at the Falls and shoot indiscriminately all over the place.
