How to be my own merchant?

Does anyone has informations related to that?
If yes, please post the websites please.

What I want, is to be my own merchant. So, when someone make an order, I get the money in my bank account...

Anyone knows how?

For a traditional business, you would go to your bank and apply for a merchant account. It doesnt work too well though for Porn sites, especially in Canada. Thats why a lot of webmasters use 3rd party billing. You might try PayPal, though.

Yea maybe...
But hey, there is fraud and chargebacks in every businesses...

the Shemp 04-27-2002 04:33 PM

The percentage of chargebacks is very high. In a retail store most
transactions are done with the credit card physically in hand. On the internet, you just type in the numbers, so fraud is higher.
Plus the banks like to know what kind of business you are in. They make an evaluation based on money invested, property owned, leasehold improvements, equipment, cash flow etc etc.
Internet porn sites arent high on this list.

What about a hosting company?

Guys,

Looks lile many of you are sadly misinformed. We have had our own merchant accounts for close to 3 years after moving from 3rd party and have done extremely well. We have a great processing company behind us and pay about 1/2 of what 3rd party processors charge. We also get paid daily right to our bank accounts. Any questions?
