I wonder why the recruiting for the Armed Forces is low

Oh, but don't worry. The marines who raped two underage girls and transmitted an STD got their just dues.

Slap on the wrist.

the key word there is "alleged" - psssst - sometimes girls lie - don't tell anyone

pocketkangaroo 03-08-2006 08:24 PM

Even if it wasn't rape, the girls were 17.

Chrome 03-08-2006 08:30 PM

this has me a little suspicious...."raped Doe on three separate occasions in the Ukiah recruiting office"

WTF? Oh yah.. isn't this the place we were raped last time? Let's go in!

agreed - but don't they have to prove that it actually happened? These girls for all we know made up a story thinking - 'hey lets try and get some money off of uncle sam?' stranger things have happened. I am not saying whether it did or didn't happen - but in this case the proof is up to the girls - there's alot of inconsistencies in the story that show perhaps they were making it up - perhaps to cover up that they had sex with someone else and they scream rape to take the burden off of them if a doctor found out when examining. I don't know - all I am saying is that if it's true - the guys will be dealt with severely - but my instincts and experience feel that the girls are playing a dangerous game of blaming innocent people to cover something up

Well they were found guilty of misconduct. I doubt the Marines would do that unless there was some evidence. Pretty easy to match up an STD.

good point - I just felt that the girls contracted it elsewhere and not wanting to tell their current bf's made it up - I still find it odd that they went back 3 times - how can anyone be that stupid - maybe they should just have a brochure in the waiting room saying, "if the recruiter wants head - run!!!"

Misconduct = ?

They didn't say sexual misconduct, they just said misconduct which could be any number of things.

One of the women said she was a virgin who contracted a sexually transmitted disease in the encounter.

All this is saying is that one of the girls is CLAIMING that she was a virgin before and now has an STD because of this. If she did in fact get it from this it will be very easy to tell, but for the time being remember... innocent until proven guilty

To be fair to the girls, 17 year old girls are dumb, naive, and easily persuaded. The guys abused their powers plan and simple. What if this was an officer who did this? Fact is that some guys fucked some underage girls on our tax dollars. Now the Marines will be sued, will settle for millions, and more of our tax dollars will be hard at work.

Perhaps you didn't read. They were found guilty of misconduct. I'm guessing our military is advanced enough to run a simple STD check on the marine to make sure these girls aren't full of shit.

mikeyddddd 03-08-2006 08:56 PM

I don't understand why more people don't sign up for the reserves then skip required meetings and still get paid like their commander-in-chief did.

I am a Marine (retired) and trust me when I say that "misconduct" is a very general term that covers ANY conduct not becoming of a US Marine or not indicative of the values instilled by the United States Marine Corps. If he was caught pissing on the sidewalk, that's "misconduct". As far as the STD, if the test has already come back positive, trust me, the media would have told you in the article. Also, let's say that a test does show that they have the same STD, did she get it from him... or did he get it from her? That being said, I AM NOT defending the actions of these 2 men; in fact I would LOVE to see them tortured for even dragging the reputation of the USMC through this...

Not saying that I am doubting you on this, but this is the first I am hearing about skipping meetings/commitments with pay and I don't see anything about it on Google... links?

It's bullshit. He did miss some meetings.... and he did not get paid. In fact , they used his payroll records to track attendance.

When you miss meetings, you can make them up at a later . He fulfilled his obligation, and got his honorable discharge.

I spent ten years in the Army Reserve and NEVER got paid for meetings I did not attend. He probably got his info from his favorite leftist website or Dan Rather.

because joining the reserves these days is tantamount to wearing a t-shirt that proclaims "proud member of operation meat shield"..
