Could you get into legal trouble by using the name of countries in domain?
 

Could you get in legal trouble for using like the name Canada in the Name/Domain of a porn site? And Mentioning the names of cities in the site?

I dont think you can, but just to be sure.

I know for a fact that you can't because the guys at professionalcash.com have the flavors of the worlds websites and I think they spoke to some lawer about that

If you own Canada.com, there is a very slight chance the government of Canada might try to use WIPO to get the domain from you. They would lose in court, but they might try.

However, there is no problem at all with using CanadaPorn.com - the only reason some countries have tried to get domains from the owners is if the domain name could confuse people into thinking it's an official site.

I don't think you have to worry about the Canadian government wanting to take "FuckSexPornCanada.com" from you.

I have had domains with countries in them for many years, adult and non adult, and I have never ever had a problem with it, nor will I.

maybe our government will wanna start a porn site...

LOL You can have any domain you like just as long as it isnt trademarked or simliar reg copy right, patent etc.

If its a general term, phrase, word and happens that a company has a product that uses the same simply say "go fuck yourself" or pay up if it means that much to you.

or if the thing is public ie whitehouse.com hmmm i must own a grain of sand on that propert my tax dollars go towards the real thing. Thus All of us own it!

canada.us (this domain makes sense)
canada.ws
canada.cc
canada.bz
canada.tv
