Namecheap FUCKING SUCKS

They will steal your domains if you are one day past the expiration date in trying to reregister. I just lost two domains that way with them. Fortunately, they weren't being used so the fuckers get ZERO traffic from the theft. Most other registrars will give you upto 30 days after the expiration date to reregister. FUCK NAMECHEAP! Cheap ass bastards!

Namecheap rock

just remember to renew them earlier next time. Offering domains so cheaply, they have to have some ways to make money

not entirely true - nowadays domains priced at 8 bucks are common
but overall NameCheap rocks for sure, they have the easiest and simplest navigation

I never had problems with namecheap. I know it sucks loosing a domain but you get 30 days before the expiration 1-2 emails I think. I had bad luck past times with godaddy and moved most of my domains to namecheap. Great support, easy navigation and I donīt drive crazy because of 50 million advertise strategies as you can see at godaddy.

jacked 03-11-2006 10:32 AM

i think theres an icann regulation that says the previous owner has first right to the domain after deletion and if the domain is only 2 days out of expiration date i don't think they can pick it up like that they have to let it sit through the 45 day deletion/grace period... i'm not to sure though i got fucked by an enom reseller the same way

You do get emails one month before the expiration of a domain to re register. Then you get a reminder on a weekly basis. If you don't register then it's your own dumb fault if you lose it.

Namecheap are great.

60grand 03-11-2006 10:44 AM

namecheap been good to me, why didnt your just reg them when you got the warning email a month before it expired :|

Tat2Jr 03-11-2006 10:56 AM

There's a link called: REACTIVATE DOMAINS. Click it!!! I'll betcha that your domains are safe and sound in there.

pornguy 03-11-2006 11:01 AM

That is one reason to go and renew them the minute they send the first notice.

chris01282 03-11-2006 12:38 PM

namecheap are the best I have seen or used.

if you don't renew, it's your problem

Jarmusch 03-11-2006 12:45 PM

NameCheap is cool. When your domains expire, they are removed from your list, but you can still renew them by clicking on the link they send on the reminder emails. I renewed a few that way a day after the expiracy date.

I recently did the same.

I think the way they remove them from the main list causes confusion. (Never seen another registrar do that with recently expired domains)
I was a little bit panicked when I sorted by expiration date...
and couldn't find them on the main list.

marketsmart 03-11-2006 01:47 PM

the only problem i have ever had with namecheap was with them checking for fraud if you register a large amount of domains at one time.. other than that the service has been good..:2 cents:

In case you missed this post, here's your remedy right there. I have domains that expired weeks ago that are still in the REACTIVATE DOMAINS section.

candyflip 03-11-2006 02:35 PM

I just got one that I had forgotten to renew thru them.

I was a week past due and had no problem renewing it.

sumphatpimp 03-11-2006 02:46 PM

Yup, Namecheap makes that available to you for at least 30 days. I just reactivated one that expired in Feb.
