Where to buy XP Pro - Cheap

Need it for the fire department I am on. Don't want to spend a ton of money on it. Any of you have places you get "legit" software cheap? Cheapest I have seen for an upgrade is like $95.

I use Mac these days so I havn't kept up on windows software.

TIA,
Andy

students can get an edu license

you can also buy a license only, that means you have a copy of the installation cd and wont get any media with the license

what kind of shitty ass budget does your fire dept have that it can't afford a copy of XP pro. And why XP pro for a fire dept? what's wrong with regular XP?

We have an extremely shitty budget because we are all volunteer. Our entire annual operating budget is around $5,000 (gear, gas, radios, packs, medical equipment) because people don't want to pay more in taxes to fund their department, so fundraisers etc is how we get most of the gear we need. Not all departments are big city departments with huge budgets.

Secondly, we need XP Pro because the county decided that they were buying a new accountability system that uses PDA's for scanning firefighters in and out of scenes and the software for the desktop REQUIRES XP Pro, but did not supply it for us, so we have to buy it.

EDIT: Not to mention, we are buying it. But why spend $200 on something you can get for $90? That's why I am looking for better prices.

Gee you'd think the local wal-mart or some other store would donate a copy to you guys. Tax write off for them and free goodwill publicity in the local paper.
