Anyone know about eating St Patty's day corned beef on a Friday during lent

Someone just told me that because this Friday honors a saint, it's ok to eat Corned Beef on a friday during lent.

That sounds like Bullshit to me.

Any thoughts???

Are you seriously asking if there could be a rule that goes against another rule in regards to what you can eat and religion? Then you dare say it sounds like bullshit.

First religious dogma and religion in general always has contradicting rules and exceptions.
Dictating what you eat based on religion is just super silly anyways.
Assuming religion is all correct and all that jazz, according to the Catholic rules can you not just give confession that you ate beef during lent and be absolved of your sin anyways?

aimeesweet 03-16-2006 05:48 PM

Oh no... What's a good catholic to do?

True, but if you intentionally violated the rule it would be a mortal sin and you could risk death before you had a chance to get to the confessional. Wouldn't that be a drag?

MattO 03-16-2006 05:52 PM

I plan on bathing my corned beef in the Blood of Christ.

MikeG 03-16-2006 05:53 PM

Here's my favorite line in that article.

"Even Christ liked to live it up at times, Donovan said. "What would Jesus say? He turned the water into wine."

Invite a priest to dinner just in case.

The whole question is so much bullshit it's not fucking funny.

TerryMiller 03-16-2006 06:53 PM
