What you should know about your hosting company
If you research a hosting company, what would you want to find out?
How long have they been in business? Monthly price? Monthly bandwidth? Support? What other questions? |
uptime uptime uptime uptime uptime uptime and more uptime.
also: http://www.web1host.net. i think the guy's name is dave or something, but i would have his manbabies because he responds to email personally and fast. good rates too. |
Overage prices, their bandwidth carrier, if they have an uptime guarantee, if they have a control panel, things like that.
Feel free to contact me on ICQ at 1021571 if you're looking for a host. :thumbsup |
The moust important thing in searching for adult hosting is ask hem about his backbone, and uptime, and bandwitch price is on secound time, shure the bast way is to get free dedicated server with them included in 300GB package...

So far it's
1. Uptime 2. backbone 3. support 4. control panel 5. bandwidth 6. overage costs 7. Experience 8. reputation 9. |
First you need to know where you need the BW for. You want 99.9999% uptime, or can it be 99% or even 98% etc
For example, when you have a TGP and much trades, you need 99.9999% uptime. Do you post moviegalleries, and burn 3000GB a month, maybe you can say, well I take the 98% uptime, and pay 5000 dollars a month less. A lot of hosts are "okay" but look out for the webmasters who are selling BW now in stead of their dialers..... Andre |
If there's a hot chick working there named Julia.

I can start on my project now!
Thank.....I mean....Go fuck yourselves guys. |
I might be curious to see who else they were hosting, since someone with some nice-sized, known companies is probably doing a pretty good job. Especially if those large, known companies have been there for more than a month or two...
|
So we're right in the discussion :)
I am planning on changing hosts and I need your opinions on two of them. I don't have any opinion about them yet. Maybe you could throw in your personal experiences, as I think that both are already there for a certain time. The hosts are: Quik-host.net and Cyprusmedia.biz Thanks a lot!!! |

Yeah Dave is good people. Best tech support I've ever had from a host, period. (I left him for some cheap cogent bandwidth though :( ) Personally I still use Flapjacks 1.0. I don't like using "new" stuff until I'm sure the bugs are all worked out. Newer isn't always better, go with what you know. But Flapjacks is the shiznit :thumbsup |
the price per Gig,
support, uptime, are the most important things for me :) |
Lenny - 1.3.5 is perfectly stable. check it out:)
|
UltraFJ2 addresses many of the problems in prior releases, IMO.

Highly recommended. |
I started interfacing all my current scripts to Flapjack around 1.0. But when 1.3.5 came around, I could target a whole new audience. Soo many new features.
Since it's rock solid too, I didn't have to worry about the Flapjack failing when I go from beta to production release. It really cut down developing time for me. SetTheWorldonFire, take a look at the whitepages for Flapjack and the feature list for 1.3.5, you will be amazed. |
have you ever seen a hosting company that doesnt boast 99.99999% uptime?

MY :2 cents:
In addition to several of the points above you should be researching the ENVIRONMENTALS. Are they in a proper, secured hosting facility. Heating and cooling, fire supression, 24 hour security, clean power. Brad |
Hey guys, can anyone please tell me what the latest stable version of Flapjacks is? Appreciate the info, thanks! :thumbsup
|
Hey why have just a host when you can have a true Internet Service Provider? I have to admit that I am still a little new to this board after 6 months, but I have been at most of the shows and reading/posting here a lot and have never heard of either of those companies. We are unbeatable in backbone, Our competitors offer the peers of their one or two, but we offer our own peers to largest networks, 13 in all, which means if you want the hundreds of peers offered by verio or level3 or uunet we offer all of them and more. Our pricing is some of the best out there and can service your needs. We are growing in adult, and I personally handle the accounts.
