nba mvp

they were saying tim duncan all over sportscenter. i hope jason kidd comes through though - NETS in 6 :thumbsup |
Kidd
|
Fran Tarkington.

Shaq should get it, but wont.
He's the most dominant player in the league, everyone agrees. He's gunna have a lot of rings at the end of his career as well, yet he wont get the MVP. |
Kidd will get the MVP, but i dont know any coach or fan for that matter that would take kidd over Shaq if picking players for a team.
With a guy like shaq you could have a Point Guard as shitty as bibby and be better than any team with kidd on it, |
Shaq! He's one bad mutha-Shutchomouf!!

I still hate the former owners of the Mavericks..Perot Jr included, for swapping Kidd for Finley...I like Finley but right now I would give my left nut for Kidd to be back in the Big D...to me the trade never made sense...I couldn't imagine how strong the Mavericks would be right now with Kidd in the line up..fuck that would be an awesome sight. I will say this tho'...for 6th man my vote is on Eduardo Najera (of course he won't get it)....damn man that guys a work horse. But either way I'm happy...I can sleep well tonight...my Mavericks took one in Sacramento in a game that I think put them back on that road to greatness...all we need to do now is win all our home game and then we move onto the next round :) |
BTW here is how the fans are voting at NBA.Com
Jason Kidd 29% Tracy McGrady 24% Tim Duncan 17% Shaquille O'Neal 11% Paul Pierce 8% Other 6% Gary Payton 3% Kevin Garnett 2% |
what happened to Mitch RIchmond?
|
Is it a political thing? Why isnt Phill playing him.
AND no, he's not too old. He still has some game to get PT. IT must be a political thing. Like Phill didnt want him, and they went against his will and got him anyway, and Phill proving a point doesnt let him play. Same thing last year with Rider. And with Rice the year before. |
Last I checked MVP = who would be your first pick over anyone in the league for there skills? take your jason kidd, mcgrady or whoever you want, I will take shaq any day of the week.
|
same here.
I hate the fucker, but hes the best. And in my book MVP is supposed to be the best. The rings, and the domination in his postiton and whenever he walks on the floor should speak for itself. The MVP thing is a fucking joke. I remeber back in the Jordan Days they were giving it to other people just so they didnt have to give it to Jordan. Sure he got a lot, but there were a lot of years he should have gotten it by all definitions and just didnt. Joke. |
Kidd better get this over Mcgrady.
This will be TOTAL bullshit if McGrady gets it. Fuck, Shaq should even getmore votes than Mcgrady, but watch Mcgrady will somehow have more. |

Duncan?
I havent heard from anyone that he is even close to getting it? Where did you hear that Duncan may get it? |
Heard it on TNT last night
|
no was duncan can or will get it.
no way |
Kidd is the shoe in winner, with Mcgrady as the upset
|
Shaq won't get the MVP because the Lakers had a bit of an off year (for them, that is) and he did spend a bit of time on the pines with the injuries. He's definitely the league's most dominant player, but this was not his finest year, no matter how you look at it.
Kidd is a good selection, I think - look at the Nets this year vs. last. Sure, their other acquisitions helped, too, but Kidd makes the whole show go. Duncan won the IBM MVP award, which is based on a strictly statistical analysis of the major stats areas (rebounds, points, assists, blocks, steals - maybe others, too not sure). The MVP voters have historically leaned heavily on stats, so he might win based on that. |
Wuss Up All !
Although I have Canadian bias, I won't insult you by telling you that Capatian Canuck Steve Nash or Air Canada Vince Carter deserve the MVP. Keeping in mind that the MVP is based on regular season performance, I am going to have to say that Kobe Bryant is the most talented player in the league. Now, many of you are talking about Shaq, Kidd and McGrady, but I think that Kobe would be the most dominant player in the league as a first option on any team. Forget about pure stats, because you are playing beside Shaq. If Magic Johnson can get the MVP over Kareem, I think there is a valid argument that Kobe has a definite shot. |
Kobe definitely has the best hair of the candidates mentioned, too. Unless someone wants to nominate Ben Wallace...?
Speaking of guys named Wallace and hair - what's the deal with the spot on Rasheed Wallace's head? Anybody know WTF that is? |
Shaq isn't the most VALUABLE TO HIS TEAM,true he makes the Lakers, but he also made the Lakers 4th in the Western Conference.
Kidd will get it just because he will never get another recognition lol... Mitch Richmond doesn't get PT because he doesn't fit into the triangle, took Kobe 3 years to understand,Richmonds ball hoggin ass would be taking 20 unadvised shots a game Chris Webber should be the MVP :thumbsup My prediction-Nowitski will be MVP next year or Paul Pierce |
My vote goes to Manute Bol! :Graucho

I've always hated basketball. A slap on the wrist a foul? COMON.:)
Im more of a hockey man myself. |
Most papers around me, and even sportscenter were highly suggesting Tim Duncan, with Jason Kidd as a second.
Tim Duncan has amazing stats, 25 pts, 12 rebounds, and 2 blocks per game - their record stayed the same from last year to this yeah, but without duncan, the team would've been shit - who else do they have - robinson.. Jason Kidd - 14 pts, 9 assists, 6 rebs, 2 blocks per game - with him the nets won 26 more games this year than last Tim duncan had a FG% of .508 (10th in the league) Kidd - .391 both players have the same role, yet i can see how its going to be very close between these 2, these players carried their teams to the playoffs. |
|
A players size doesn't matter. If a player is more valuable than another, it doesn't matter if he's 8 feet tall or 4'6". Shaq is the best player in the league. He's top 5 for scoring, he can rebound, he blocks, he dominates the game. If you were to start a team and pick ANY one player in the league, who would you pick? That should be your MVP.
The Lakers would be a good team, but not great, without Shaq. He's the one reason the Lakers win and the other teams don't in the playoffs. |
wow! I will be shocked if its duncan!
Cool deal if it is! |
