Busted by Juan Carlos Mortensen for 10k today
 

Played in the 10k WSOP event today at Caesar's. Flopped middle pair plus a straight and a flush draw and made a straight on the turn, betting very hard after the flop AND after the turn. John Phan calls me down with two pair plus a nut flush draw, hits his flush on the river, which also makes me a jack high flush and he takes most of my chips.

I double up with AK, then I go three times the big blind with AQ preflop, Juan Carlos Mortenson calls with 7-8. I flop top pair, he flops an up and down straight draw, calls my big bet after the flop then takes the rest of my chips when he makes his straight on the turn.

Worst fucking luck in the whole room, except for maybe TJ Cloutier, who got busted out on the VERY FIRST HAND with his nut flush against a full boat. Why do I play this game?? :mad: :mad:

ouch. did you get in the tourney through satellites or did you buy in for $10k?

Its crazy how shit works sometimes. I really think its about who gets the luck that night.

that's a very large part of it.

I won a couple thou playing satellites, then my gf dragged me off to San Diego so I had to buy in for the rest of it. I think I might play at the Mirage event next weekend just to wash the taste of this one out of my mouth.

It sucks that you caught that kind of bad luck in a major tourney like that.

Mortensen is an awesome player.
