More .XXX News......yeah, we're all tired of it but........
TIME IS RUNNING OUT!
it is very very important that people know how important it is to let ICANN know that we are not at all interested in this conspiracy to line pockets of the people that devised .XXX. the list goes deeper than you'd think on who wants this to happen to grab that quick buck at your expense and the expense of your business that you've worked so hard for. they are also counting on leveling the playing field and binging on your marketshare that will become available. there are people that you do business with that are stabbing us all in the back for the almighty dollar, and you don't even know who they are. they are sitting back and watching us do what we've always done, look the other way and hope that it doesn't happen. someday, one of these things are going to happen and many many of you will go bye bye. without us telling ICANN that we don't want this, it could easily happen. take 5 minutes right now and email [email protected] and then confirm your post by clicking their automatic email that goes to the address you sent the email from. if you are not that educated on .XXX go here and learn a little about it. http://www.fightthedotxxx.com/ http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/xinfo.htm here are some links with some background info ^ , if you're too lazy to read it then just write "The adult industry opposes the .xxx idea, it will serve no purpose, please vote it down" or sth like that. thank you airek *if you're jsut a troll or sigwhore and tired of seeing us talk about this, keep your comments to yourself, we may actually be saving the livelyhood that even allows you to exist here. |
Just do it.

bump for yeah
|
yep, they are meeting about it again tomorrow, people better get on it and make it happen.
i'll laugh at people who don't fight if it goes through for lack of support on the opposition. watching people complain about something that they didn't oppose will be amusing. |
Make it simple. Post a sample letter

we dont want icann thinking we are stuffing their forum with fake posts. bottom line is send an email saying that you oppose .xxx and that it will not make the internet any safer from children accessing porn and all the other things that the media beats us up for. .xxx won't stop sexual predators .xxx wont stop CP .xxx will only line the pockets of people who are attempting to take advantage of the state of an industry and an Internet. :) *anything along those lines is great :thumbsup |
should anyone be really lazy, copy and past this and email it

here is a great example of why to oppose .XXX
Opposed to .XXX * To: xxx-tld-agreement@xxxxxxxxx * Subject: Opposed to .XXX * From: Roy Huggins ICANN Communications <icann@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> * Date: Mon, 08 May 2006 22:00:42 -0700 While the .xxx TLD may appear useful on the surface, the implementation of it will cause widespread damage. It has already been expressed by US government officials that the existence of a .xxx TLD would be utilized in order to force adult websites that operate in the US to do so solely under a .xxx domain. The least of the damage to be caused is the loss of marks long-held by webmasters previously operating under other TLDs. Thousands of webmasters have worked for years on .com, .net, etc and will lose huge portions of that work if forced into a .xxx ghetto. The suggestion that they can simply redirect their traffic to the new .xxx is naive and foolish and could only come from someone who is unfamiliar with website development and promotion. For instance, search engines do not regard redirects as legitimate for backward linking purposes. Millions of dollars could be lost on damaged search engine placement alone. In addition, what guarantee will any adult webmaster have that they will be able to get the .xxx equivalent of their current domain? The forced switch to .xxx will promote domain squatting and the crippling extortion that goes with it. We saw this in the mid-90s and we can easily see it again. There are currently many more TLDs than just .com. This means that a forced switch to .xxx will ensure that many webmasters will be edged out of their long-held and hard-fought marks as they scramble to get whatever .xxx domain most resembles their original business name. Besides the concern that ghetto-izing legislation would follow the .xxx TLD's approval, it should be sufficient to simply note that the institution of .xxx will in no way assist in hiding pornography from the eyes of minors. The majority of pornographic websites are not American and would not have to abide by .xxx even if said legislation did come to pass. The only pornography that would be filtered by .xxx alone would be that created in the US. A simple Google search followed by a lot of GeoIP checking will tell you that most of the Internet's pornographic content is not in the US and its owners would have no incentive to move it to a .xxx domain. Ipso facto, the institution of .xxx will provide no help in preventing minors from viewing pornography on the Internet. This logic is simple and factual, and should be convincing for anyone who is truly interested in helping parents keep their children away from pornography. The majority of the adult industry is interested in keeping children away from their content, and that is why they use tagging systems like ICRA and support such services as NetNanny, etc. This is because webmasters understand that self-labeling, and the active participation of parents in their children's lives, are the only truly effective method of preventing minors from viewing pornography on the Internet. I urge ICANN to reject the .xxx TLD proposal. It is nothing more than an effort to make an extra buck and push a moral agenda at the expense of a socially marginalized industry. The damage it will cause will be widespread and only the powerful and wealthy will benefit. -Roy Huggins Professional Web Developer and Concerned Netizen |

Hope is that webmasters would be smart enough to reword a letter to make it more their own. There are tons of examples now posted on GFY. If you have writers block, read a few and get something in. |

I think every time a big fish starts a new thread someone should post in that thread did you write icann yet
|
someone should reply to that guy
|
it would be ironic if the public comments section got closed with such a stupid pro .xxx post at the top
|
i wouldn't get too worked up over that post at the top. icann arent a bunch of sigwhores and trolls. they can see that there is great distaste for this new TLD.
that one post is not the silver dagger. |
I just sent my email in opposition!
|
That guy conveniently avoids the simple fact that if porn was on .xxx, all a child has to do is type <anyword>.xxx and see porn.
He also neglects to mention (because it's virtually ever stated in any public forum) that people in the real adult industry (I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that this is what he means when he labels "pornographers") are THE MOST EFFECTIVE deterent to illegal ch*** p*** there has been, or will ever be! Some people come off as well intentioned, but by being outside the industry, they just dont get it. And as an afterthought, what does he mean do you think by "even if it's only 25% effective"? lmao Only 25% MORE porn sites will be available to human eyeballs? hmmm I'm guessing 99.9% effective in that regard. Not a single person is going to voluntarily delete their .coms in favor of a .xxx. It takes years to gain SE positions and such, WITH warnings and notes to parents on how to block their own site plastered all over their index! Doh. |
One more thing. What kind of sick twisted retard would put adult material on a .KIDS domain!?? Do kids have good credit and valid credit cards over 18+? WTF. Any one of us would string such a scumbag up by their balls so fast and so high, they'd never reach the ground again.
IMHO anyway. Carry on. |
In reviewing the letters posted at ICAAN, we're hurting! Not not nearly enough response and there are too many that just say "I oppose the.xxx tld".
A few words on why would seem to attract more influence. There is a delay in the listing too. A rash of opposition letters evenat the last minute would help. |
Read the letters here: http://forum.icann.org/lists/xxx-tld-agreement/
emailed about 20 minutes ago and not listed. |

iCann, As a proud parent, I oppose .xxx ? I don?t want to make it any easier to find porn that it already is, plus I don?t want to legitimize these damn pornographers by giving them their own private neighborhood. Strike it down. Jason |
Latest stats to ICANN on .XXX - Mails in Archive: 517
More emails needed. Seem to have plenty of posts. |
Bump .......
Email sent!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Letters are great, but do your traffic magic as well. Y'all got blogs? Blog yer letters. Make some quick and dirty pages. Do all the usual shit you do when you're trying to get traffic. What we want is for OUR opinion to dominate the SERPS whenever anybody types "DOTXXX" or "ICANN". C'mon work yer magic, adult webmasters. So fucking what icann.org is a PR8. We can own them with volume and balls. Do it! 2hp |
i definitely wouldn't be discouraged. icann is not a bunch of idiots, they can see that this is a gorup of conspirators trying to make a quick buck, they jsut need to to hear also that we don't want it.
keep sending in your letters. |
