spysweeper and avg free antivirus take care of this easily for free :) Both run here constantly and catch everything thats been thrown at them

eMonk 05-23-2006 06:51 AM

i'm using ad-aware & nod32. i have 5 java/bytverify trojans in quarantine with nod32 & can't seem to delete them. the files seem to be in use. please advise.

flashbang 05-23-2006 06:54 AM

They are quaratined, use the program that quaruntines them to delete, it sets flags so they can not be.

Pure Evil 05-23-2006 07:00 AM

MUNK, what is the location of the infected file?

i tried deleting the 5 infected files from the quarantine list but it didn't remove the files from my system, just from my quarantine list. when i rescan my system, the infected files are caught again & i get the choice to add them to my quarantine list.

What happens when you try to delete "jar.jar-10b9dd1d-17d889c8.zip"?

Redbird 05-23-2006 07:24 AM

restart in save mode
the trojan won't be loaded
run scan and delete files
run spybot and delete registry entries

Restart in save mode
check if files are gone

DaLord 05-23-2006 07:25 AM

MUNK,
I hope you somehow can get a bit of help from http://www.worldsex.com/help/security.html

it can't be deleted once its detected in nod32. the delete option is disabled & i can't seem to find the actual file on my system in windows explorer.

CyberHustler 05-23-2006 07:47 AM

I Use Bull Guard

i restarted in safe mode & ran my anti-virus program nod32. the same trojans were detected but i still couldn't delete the actual infected files from my system. they are still in use.

You can't go here?
c:\documents and settings\owner\application data\sun\java\deployment\cache
Then delete all the files in the cache?

Michael O 05-23-2006 08:01 AM

Have checked show hidden files under
option/folders?

flashbang 05-23-2006 08:02 AM

try the old boot to command prompt, then type in the dir and remove the old fashion DOS way

MarkMan 05-23-2006 08:12 AM
