What would you do if you expected someone to steal from you...

My next door neighbor paints some houses for my family, and the kid who works for him was saying he heard one of his friends was planning to steal my cd player from my car. I'm up pretty much all night so my dog will bark and ill catch him if he does.

what would you do? im thinking ill probably run out there with a baseball bat, but unless i cant get in trouble for it, i dont want to beat the shit out of him.

haha, i wouldnt want to go to jail for shooting some punk kid. definitely not worth it. plus i dont own or want to own a gun.

Bdiddy 06-20-2006 09:55 PM

just catch him red handed, and take him to his parents

...if they suck ass at their responsibility in life then fill water ballons with piss and hire the neighborhood kids to pester him for the rest of the week :thumbsup

I'd let them steal and confirm my expectation.

Best way to get rid of false friends.

Don't cost much for a security cam beemk and a noise activated recorder stuffed in the car to capture the sound track :winkwink:

If you have time and a good camcorder with night vision, I would catch him in the act. Just let him do it. Then go to his parents (assuming the kid will tell you where his friend lives) with a copy of the tape and tell them that they have this amount of time to pay for the damages before you go to the cops or get an attorney. Not only will they pay for it, he'll get his little ass beat (as long as he's not a white kid :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh ). Not only do you get your shit back/damages covered, the kid also gets a 'legal' beating. :)

I would give him a reach around... or something.

way back when, a kid stole my brothers radio during a house party. We knew it was him so we called his house and left a message stating "if the radio is not on our door step by 10:00 am we will be at yours" - it was there when we opened the door, so we only kicked his ass a little bit :)

I would call ahead or leave a note stating: "people who steal from me end up at the bottom of Lake Erie" :thumbsup

pssh, that's lame, I would connect one of those electric fence devices to your car, one of those that they use for horses/cattle/etc... it will teach the kid not to touch stranger's car 10x quicker than some lame recording of him stealing your radio....

Yeah, i dint read the thread before answering, but in my point of view,, if someone plan to steal a 200$ item for me, i'd let him do it. If a JackAss is brave enought to steal 200$ bux from me, it's that he realy need it.

That said. i'll try to know who it is so it wont be repeated.

I did that a couple of time, lost couple of k's but never twice by the same person.

But again, that's just my humble tought.

Leave a note on your window with his name on it.. It would be fun and all to go up and get it back and all that, but there is a good chance this kid is a complete idiot/novice thief and will fuck up your dash and break your window. If that is the case, try to catch him and give him a nice beat down.

The idea was to get damages/recovery of property and make it known to his parents - not electrocute the little asshole :winkwink:

Tho good idea woj - used to do that with a safe and stuff a 240 volt current thru it - just to make sure :pimp

Whatever you do dont be so sure your dog will wake you up. Coin was out of town a couple weeks ago and I was left at home with the dog. Our dog wakes up if a car drives by, any sound at all and he's up. We have a pitbull and anyone in the neighbourhood knows not to mess with him. Well that night, my car was robbed blind, stipped of everything in it, and the dog didn't flinch. So I am just saying don't count on your dog waking up.:disgust

webgurl 06-20-2006 10:31 PM

shoot him with a beebee gun !

BusterBunny 06-20-2006 10:40 PM

I'd confront the kid or go talk to his parents...

If that doesn't work call the cops and let them go have a talk with him.
