How hard is it to get a processor if you have a merchant account?
I am sick of getting jerked around by 3rd party processor.. I think I am going to finally make the step to getting a merchant account and processing my own credit cards... How hard is it to do this, and what companies are good and take adult sites?? I also need shopping cart functionality.
Thanks, Rpet |
Not sure if they are good or not, but I konw a few people who use Plug n Pay.

as far as API goes authnet and linkpoint are dominant; as far as a processor goes, find one that fits your needs

Having your own merchant account is the best option. It puts you in full control of your scrubbing, negative database and what countries you process. However its not easy. I've been working on it with netbilling (who are great!) for the last couple months and we are still about 2 weeks out from being set to process. Biggest hurdle is there is one bank in the usa that still gives authentic adult high risk merchant accounts. You also need to have a very good chargeback history. 1% or over and they won't touch you. Also you need to do 100,000 a month in sales. The bar is high and its also not cheap. But like I said I think its worth it if you meet the criteria. I'll let you guys know how it goes for once I start processing with mine :thumbsup
btw affiliates of my program using ccbill have nothing to worry about, none of those links will ever change! |

There is more then 1 bank that takes adult merchant accounts. I think there are 3 actually. Joey B. Lo is probably getting setup through Humboldt since they require the $100,000/monthly minimum. You can talk to Joe about getting setup through Woodforest if your doing under $100,000/monthly
Joe: 888 997-5174 http://www.msusa.info and then use PayWide.com for your password management, rebilling, fraud scrubbing,etc.. Your looking at least $1,500 for the Mastercard, Visa and bank fees to get setup. Talk to a couple of people that can get you a adult merchant account to get the best prices. It never hurts to try and get a merchant account (except the time to fill out the forms and fax the paperwork). |
Having your own merchant account isn't usually the best option. I would suggest checking out what the other 3rd parties have to offer before you take that step.

I would be gad to help you learn more. Start with my "see sig".
Fill out the short form so I can have a professional call you at a time best for you. |
if you got a merchant account you can be your own processor

Did you speak with our sales department? We should be able to set you up in 1 day. Thank you, Mitch Farber |
We currently are underwriting with two different non-US banks with no volume requirements.
You can use Netbilling as your gateway if you like with either of our banks as well :) icq me if you'd like to talk about it |
