Why can't the bastards learn English?
 

I just feel the need to rant a little. I can cope with 20-30 annoying fucking viruses a day. Set a rule up and junk 'em. What I want to know is why the hell they can't even learn decent English?
I've junked 'em all now so haven't an example to cut and paste but just about all of them are in pigeon oriental English. You'd think if the assholes were going to build a virus they'd learn how to speak/write it first.

Never make fun of someone who speaks broken English. It means they know a second language. Do you? If so, do you speak it so fluently that people who use it as their native language can't tell it is not also your native language?

When the bastard writes a virus the of course I'll make fun of them and yes I can speak a second language but I'll admit not fluently. But then that's the reason I don't write in that language.

Viruses are fucking annoying as it is - another form of spam but one that's potentially dangerous if you let your guard down. However, you'd think if the sad little man writing them had taken the time to build the virus he/she would also take the time to get the wording right.

I'm not having a bash at people who have English as a second language and make mistakes. I have a lot of respect for many of them reaching the level where they can converse fairly fluently in it. I'm having a bash at the nasty little fucking virus writers. Even so when the grasp of a language is as bad as the guy writing this crap, were I him I'd stick to my native tongue.

BTW for the people who wanna bash the language in my sig there's fuck all wrong with it. I wouldn't word it that way were I sitting an English Lit. exam, but it is very valid dialect from the area of the UK I come from. I write on BB's the way I speak which means I don't sound like the non-working class characters out of Mary poppings and that's reflected in the sig.

I'll say it again for those too simple to understand the reason for the 1st post. I have a lot of respect for those who have English as a second language which includes many on this BB and never have or will criticise their grammar/spelling. However, I have no respect for fucking idiot oriental virus writers who not only write this shit but make no effort to make the message particularly legible.

And by the way - is Pidgin English, not pigeon - its a language not a dove - you pigeon (Native English speakers know the other meaning of that word :1orglaugh) . I know cause I speak it well, alongside with 3 more languages.

XXXManager - have you even bothered to read the reasoning behind the post? Tell you what, when you are educated enough to be able to read and understand the gist of a post I'll brush up on my English skills and remove any mistakes. Until then I'll continue to take little notice of fucking idiots who reply and haven't the intelligence to understand what they're replying to. I wasn't as clear as I could have been in the first post perhaps. I was very clear in the others.

We'll both agree on that point then and yep to an extent I'd rather have bad English so I know it's a virus. Like I say I wasn't clear on the 1st post and have tried to be clear since. My English isn't perfect but it's generally not too bad especially when you read much writen by people who have English as a first language.

It just amazes me how a guy can spend all that time thinking he's clever writing a virus and then fuck it up on the last hurdle. I can speak and just about write French, but don't because I know my written French is appalling and my spoken gets me by but is not good enough that I use it when I don't have to.

It seems to be an Oriental thing though. Just look at any number of instruction manuals. It seems many think that their English skills are far better than they actually are or they'd employ somebody with English as a native language to write them. Going back to the French thing - I wouldn't even attempt to write a technical manual in French but would hire a French guy to do it. I've always wondered why so many Asian companies don't do the same....

Point is though it's just a fucking annoying virus and that was the main gripe. For some reason the crap English juts makes it more annoying although I must admit does identify it clearly as a virus.

No offense really taken and no offense really meant the other way. Believe it or not I have no time for people when they do slag off those who have English as a second language and don't like being labelled as one of them. Again, I should have been clearer.

I'm happy many of them write in broken English, rather then their native language.

The viruses like klez piss me off. There are days when 50% of my emails are from sent from people with bizzare subject lines such as END OF PAYCOUNTER CODE. Everytime I get one of these emails norton picks it up, but we all know how well norton is at lagging your pc when it is running. :mad:
