Christian Childrens Fund...
 

So i sent one of my sponsored children ( christianchildrensfund.org ) in Uganda a $100 special gift as that's the maximum you can give them. The boys father wrote me as the child is too young to write yet and told me he purchased:

- New School Uniforms
- Mattresses for the family
- New clothes for the family
- Farming tools
- mosquito netting for the beds as the mosquitoes are bad out there this season

and still has over 3/4 of the money left!

Amazing how far a few dollars can go out there...I encourage all of you to sponsor a child through one of the MANY organizations there are out there it's so needed and so appreciated.

Agreed - and good to see that you picked the ones that are really doing something good
For those that dont know CCF is far from an evangelical organization - as a matter of fact they cant get listed (and are even banned from the database) on ministrywatch because they dont try to spread religion/gospel and just use the money to help people - and of course support local medical practices that the "Christians" dont find acceptable

Thank you...and ill mention that this family writes to me bi-weekly send pics and shows how your money helps its so uplifting to help other people out. They certainly need it...

I've been looking at the CCF site for the last couple of weeks. We (myself and the boys) wanted to sponsor a child in the US. But the way I read the site, if you chose a US citizen, the dollars go to programs instead of the more direct aid that seems to be the case for other countries.

Am I reading it correctly?
